5 stars for being a small town local store. For example: they still ask if they can help bring your groceries to the car. Good selection of items without getting lost. A good bakery. Half the distance of the Walmart west of town.

Besides the few groceries items offered at Wal-Mart and Braums, this is the only place to buy groceries in this town. It's prices are way too high! They do offer double coupons but I don't have time to clip those damn things and then spend extra time going thru them while I shop with 2 young children. They do have weekly sale items and I try to make a point to at least look for the bright signs and see if there is a bargain. I wanted Tropicana OJ today, it was $5.79 (I think) for a freakin' gallon! Guess what, I didn't buy any! The store brand Best Choice is actually ok so try some of those items to save some money too! I try to get what I can from Wal-Mart and Braums, but unfortunately I have to buy from here occasionally and every time I shop here I feel like I have been screwed!!!!!!

Yup! you'll pay more at Sooners for name brand canned good and some other things. But, you'll pay a lot less for dairy and fresh meat. Not only that, you can get a thick steak cut to order or have a piece of meat tenderized or ground for chili meat right in front of you. [Try doing that at Wal-Mart.]I am more than willing to pay a little more for some things to get the service of an 'in house' meat department instead of getting pre-packaged meat from another state or country prepared by undocumented workers that do not even speak English and could care less how they handle the meat I eat.I am also more than willing to NOT buy from a store where 3/4 or more of the goods are marked "Made In China". Because of Wal-mart, we can no longer buy an appliance store in Sulphur and cannot get any service for a television or for equipment that was purchased from a local company with a service department. Because of Wal-Mart, we can no longer buy a pair of Western Boots or a Western Shirt or hat. Because of Wal-mart we cannot buy any yard goods or sewing notions, or sporting goods in town and now they do not even have the sporting goods or automotive goods they had with the old 'little' store. I'll gladly spend my money in a local store so Wal-Mart does not become the only place in town to buy groceries, too.Cher B
