Shape Fitness

I was about to sign up at shape fitness, however I do like to look at who owns the company do a little research as to what they are about in the boardroom, In this day and age of wokeisum. Don't get me wrong my findings don't reflect the character of the good people working at this location. This is what I found. Dang me for not reading yelp reviews 2 years ago when I signed up. We went in for the special advertised on Facebook. As we were doing paperwork they said oh I'm sorry this is only for 2 year contracts not 1 (that was not specified anywhere on flyer/ad) so we said ok and went through with it. Not a fault of the gym at all but less than 2 months later we had an emergency move far away from any shape fitness. This move also included leaving personal items behind i.e. our copy of the contract. When reaching out to get our contract cancelled starting in November that year we had to go through multiple people to get the answers and was told the balloon payment to get it canceled would be pretty high. We continued to pay all these months with no gym use. Again not a fault of gym. We started contacting again in Feb 2020 to get canceled. Still got the same run around. But finally was told it would be canceled after June 2020 which was the end of our 2 years. We were still debited July and August. So I reached out beginning of September with my complaint and wanted to make sure I wasn't being charged September as well. Well I was. And AGAIN! We got the runaround and was treated horribly. The kicker is we finally received our personal items in August and I found my contract. Our paperwork indicates we DID only sign a 1 year contract. We have been lied to for so long. We paid an extra 12 months on top of the 3 they still charged us for and not 1 employee ever told us differently. I've not even attempted nor will i try to get the whole 1 year we were screwed out of but I do want the 3 months they charged us for after being promised our contract would be canceled. Run away from this place. Plenty of other gyms to go to besides this sleazy place with horrible customer service.

Needing to get in some exercise during the winter months, I popped in here on a Monday after work. The girl there, Alisha, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Since I work at Walmart I was eligible for a discounted rate. That's a definite plus! She took the time to show me some of the machines I was interested and told me about the tanning areas. The facilities are extremely clean, the locker areas look like they've been redone recently. All in all, I am extremely satisfied with my decision to join. I feel very safe during and after my workouts. Kudos to Alisha. Since I only go on weekdays after work, can't say how busy the weekends are, but during the week, it's moderately busy after 4. Ask Alisha and she could probably recommend the best times. I feel so good after working out, but I'm taking it slow of course!

I love this place!! It's very clean and the staff is so kind and attentive. It has lots of machines so you r all rarely have to worry about them being full, and the classes are fun too! Carolyn is my favorite!! I went to her class one time and she remembered my name and a few personal things about me. Really felt kind that she cares that much about people.

Great gym! Clean environment and always meeting nice people while working out. Also, trainers there are the best...especially Carolyn!

Fun environment, has friendly employees, and is extremely clean! I'll definitely be making this my go-to gym!

If negative stars were possible I'd give them that. Currently there is a puddle of standing water under a squat rack and literal feces on the locker room floor. The equipment has little to no numbering so it's your best guess at what weight your lifting. More that one person has been hurt by equipment breaking while using it. When asked for help with anything responses are normally "the only good gym is Midwest city" so if you want the decent equipment I hope you're willing to drive past three other of their facilities just to go to the "good" version of this gym

Most of these people complaining about price don't read into what they're signing up for. I was given a sheet with the exact price of everything I would be expected to pay, wasn't hit with any surprise charges or fees, and you have a lot of options if the weights aren't quite your style. The other amenities and cleanliness really make this place a great gym to go to when I need to get a workout in

Hoping to get into shape we Signed up for a year.1 employee was very kind and informative. The rest were rude and ineffective.I approached the employee behind the desk for instruction on using the tanning equipment..She looked up from her phone and said..."you just use it" and without missing a beat returned to her ever so important video.Our family has been made fun of and laughed at for attempting to get into better shape/health by More than one of the clientele.We attempted to cancel citing these issues. In short we were told no. They will not cancel the contract.Contract corporate. Extremely unhappy with this "company".

It's GREAT to have a true 24/7 gym in the community that is upfront and honest about their prices instead of gyms that post low rates but hide annual fees, maintenance fees, and sneezing-too-loud fees...They've also gotten some updated equipment!
