So we stopped here on our way to OKC, wasn't sure what to expect but I like little museums so thought I'd give it a try. My 12 year acted bored at first. Then we went into the first big train room. My son became much more interested. Then we went into a room with a train setup you can actually play with. And he lost all his preteen angst and got really interested. There is a giant bear. A couple of horse sculptures, a cabin from pioneer times to look into. Very neat, very friendly people. With a stop. Took only about 30-45 minutes for the whole thing so it a good stop and stretch your leg kinda stop.

Beautiful building and many neat historic artifacts as well as several operational HO gauge trains. Well worth the $2.00 admission. Be sure to check out the papier-mâché horse, large bear, and the organ that landed upright after a tornado! Also the gorgeous wood ceilings.

what a great piece of history! Such a beautiful building with so much rich background. I hated the fact that after hours there are a group of young punks that skate board around the premises and tear up the property. i was there doing the 4th of July week and witnessed them breaking the windows to the parked train cabooses. The kids were literally climbing all over it (like on top of the roof). They were throwing rocks and breaking windows to climb through them. it was after hours, but still...geez talk about no respect. Anyways, i totally love this small piece of history, great place to take the kids and any history buffs. its also supposedly haunted....creepy!

Train depot is now a museum. My personal family history is embedded in this museum. Small fee to look around its becomes well worth it when you see the miniature Shawnee with the train running through town.
