Sam's Soul Food & BarBQ

If you are looking for authentic soul food, this is for you. Being from North Carolina, there's nothing that comes closer to home cooking as Sam's. Absolutely amazing!

Ambiance is what you would expect for the area. Dated and nothing fancy. Not bad though. Service was ok also. Food was pretty good. I visited on a Sunday and Gumbo was the daily special. It was just ok. Would I order it again? Only if I was craving gumbo but it was just ok. The corn bread was just ok also. I wouldn't order it if it was a side. The collard greens were pretty good. I liked it. Cooked to perfection. Not too soft. Taste was perfect IMO. The okra was prefab frozen but I don't mind cuz it's delivered. The star and highlight and reason I'm going to try other dishes before I leave Lawton is the chicken wings. They were ! So good! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked! I don't know if the hot sauce is home made but it was delicious also! I would buy that sauce. I would definitely try other menu options.

I liked the food. The rib tips were moist and flavorful. The okra was better than average. The sweet potatoes were good but had too much cinnamon for me. My son liked his pork rib sandwich (ribs were full size massive pork ribs). Dad had rib tips and also liked them. He says the turnip greens are always good. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and helpful. The building looks like it was probably a Pizza Hut back in the 80s. But it is well maintained. I also loved the army decorations that serve as a tribute to the artillery. I did ask if I could trade a few rib tips to just taste their Thursday special (name escapes me but a Korean bbq). I was disappointed they would not let me swap a rib tip to at least taste them. But I understand.

The food was amazing along with the service. I ordered the 2 ribs and I highly recommend them! The BBQ sauce is out of this world, along with the ribs and the potato salad was good along with the sweet potatoes. If I come back to visit Lawton, I will definitely eat here again

We love Sam's Soul Food! We eat there almost every week either on Saturday or Sunday. We generally order the same thing every time so Jenny knows our order. We like the huge loaded potato, the ribs, and the wings. They're the best! We have always been happy with the service and quality of the food.

Came in here after reading some reviews, we have mixed feelings in regards to those. First off it's kinda loud for very few people. Wife had the ribs, which were good, bbq sauce was ugh, tasted like sweet & sauce mixed with honey mustard or something and didn't sit well with our stomachs. Cabbage was cooked good, coleslaw is homemade. I had the catfish, which had a good tasteful batter seasoned with soul seasonings, pinto beans and fried okra is kinda the same everywhere. Sweet tea was on spot. On this restaurant we will let you decide.

Doesn't look like much when just passing by. Was in the mood for some soul food, found this place on YELP. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a smile! The atmosphere was very homey. The waitress was very kind and polite! The food was delicious! I am from Mississippi, it wasn't quite like home but it was good! The prices are cheap for the amount of food you get.

Great food! Perfect fried pork chops, chicken wings and pulled pork. Cabbage, black eye peas and potato salad were amazing! Every bite was delicious and outstanding service too! Definitely recommend if you're looking for food made to feed your soul!

This is a must try place staff so friendly and the food top notch if you like smoked ribs and brisket this is the spot and the whole fried chicken wings are a must have as well I suggest the potato salad and coleslaw for sides, I will for sure be a regular at Sam's

Food was alright service was good and ambiance was kinda empty think only locals know this place cuz no one was hardly their.. over all not bad..
