Sallee Meat Processing

Don't get me wrong these people are great and all. Very easy to locate area and were very helpful even had samples to pick from but when we got our meat back there were some problems. The steaks, summer sausage, and back straps were all good, tastes good, looked good, all of that good stuff. But the Jerky the most expensive item to make they ruined. I got my doe back around January 8th and from there to February 1st my jerky went bad. There was mold as you can see in the picture and just a nasty mess. Jerky SOULD NOT mold at all and from all the places I have gone I have never had this problem. I got over 4 pounds of jerky and it just went to waste because of molding. Honestly very upsetting and didn't even get a refund. But like I said the people were great understood how to do everything but make jerky.

Due to a move, we needed a new wild game processor. We chose Sallee Meat processing in Guthrie. Our grandson shot his first deer. A young doe. Upon placing my order, little did I know, the order taker wrote my order wrong. I asked for sliced jerky meat (they knew I had a smoker as we discussed me making the jerky myself). I was very surprised to find they made the jerky for me. Throughout our discussions, I explained several times that the final order was not what I ordered. Further, they offered someone else's deer meat trying to make it right? And to make it worse, I was informed the jerky they produced was not going to be my deer anyway. We now get to wonder who's deer we are eating? How did they handle their deer? Deboning an entire deer, slicing it into jerky meat, should have been enough for a batch of its own. Hunters beware. I won't be back

By far the best wild game processor I have ever visited, I will be a customer for life. They are very helpful, very informed, and very nice. The recipes they use for their brats, polis sausage, and summer sausage are better than any store-bought I have ever had. If they mess something up or get an order wrong they are willing to make it right and replace it. My family has been processing their own deer and wild game for decades, but now we all use Sallee and will for decades to come.
