We've utilized Route 66 Park a few different times while passing through Oklahoma City in recent years. I love that there are playgrounds, a water view, and plenty of picnic areas available for meals. The biggest downside to the park is that they have "real" bathrooms, but they are always locked. They do offer porta potties, but they are always disgusting -- sometimes to the point of being unusable. If the bathroom situation was better handled, this would be a wonderful stop in the area. As it currently stands, it's very much just "okay" overall.

Park playground a 5 star. Also the scenery and layout a 5 star.Short 15 min drive from the house. There was quite a few people out on the day we went. I was sad to see Porta potties there vs the bathrooms being open... But I guess that's how it goes these days? The bad Porta pottie was in bad shape Porta potties don't have sanitizer in them ... Definitely had serious bugs in them.... UnfortunateWill try to get out here again sometime. If only the parks department sent someone out weekly this could be a nice area!Respectfully,BryanYukon, Oklahoma

Great park with plenty of playground space and open grass. There is plenty of parking even on the days where the weather is beautiful. You would expect to see half of OKC, Yukon and Bethany out there, but I've never had any problems getting a parking spot. Lake is located a few yards to the east so you can enjoy fishing while the kids are playing as well as a small pond right next to the playground. The city keeps the park clean. You still have the occasional duck poop on some parts of the sidewalk and along the grass near the pond. As long as you look where you are going, you are fine. There are folks with dogs without leashes allowing their medium to large dogs run around the park so you just have to be careful.

Nice enough park, but no bathrooms available. They have bathrooms but they are locked up and for people like us that drove over 30 mind to get there it kinda sucked. Not worth the drive when your kiddos have to pee

Nice park off the west side of lake overholser. The kid park is very nice and it's pretty big.it has a small walking trail around the park area. However, they are currently adding what looks like a very nice baseball field on the north side of the park. Currently, you can not do the complete trail because of the construction.

This COULD be a really nice park, great play area for kids skate board area as well. Nice lookout tower and nice building with a fountain and actual bathrooms, however if you want anything that even resembles water you have to rent the bathrooms and fountain. This park is in the middle of nowhere no stores no houses mitts as far as the eye can see. If you are going toAdvertise that you have bathrooms you should make them available to the patrons. There is one disgusting port a potty for a huge park. It was way over flowing full of flies and in the warm day stink the whole area up. And people wonder why there is ecoli in the water supply in Oklahoma. This is the most bogus thing I've ever heard of I would not recommend anyone with children coming here, if they were to fall and scrape knee or any body part the best you can hope for is some slime filled fish pond for cleaning it. Really, how cheap can you be Oklahoma?

This park is pretty nice and quite & very peaceful. It's connected to the lake what makes it pretty cool. It's has a playground for the little ones on one side of the park. There's also ducks in the park form the lake.

Route 66 Park Is the perfect park for all your outdoor activities. I saw several people fishing. A wonderful playground for kids and a covered picnic area with bbq grills. There is a paved path a mile long that borders the water. It had beautiful bridges to walk over and lots of different vegetation. It was a great walk for my dog. She enjoyed the ducks and prancing near the water. A very pleasant morning.

This is a beautiful park that sits next to Lake Overholser. Plenty of picnic space and a cover pavilion is available for rent for parties. The pond next to the park has dried up some leaving a small beach area. Fishing, feeding ducks, and walks around beautiful scenery is what makes this park a favorite hot spot for all ages.
