High quality library with nice selection of books and even DVDs. Convenient location downtown as well. Recommended as the "City's Library"!

This is a really nice library in downtown OKC. There are plenty of chairs and tables to study at, with a wide variety of books.Like others have said, parking here sucks. How are you supposed to be able to enjoy the library or study when you have to go and feed the meter every hour? I think it's a shame such a nice library isn't made more accessible/convenient for patrons.

Beautiful modern clean library in the heart of downtown oklahoma city. The library let you register the meeting/private room for two hours, but will not kick you out if you exceed the time limit unless there are people waiting. Library gives one hour free parking ticket to park at the rainbow stained glass building. The front desk at the library can provide you one hour free permit. If you plan to stay longer, you will have to pay $2.00 per hour to park in the garage. There is 2 hours limit street parking also available, which is $1.00 per hour. I do love the high ceiling glass doors/windows with a great view to look at and the option to have the spacious private study room!!! And did I mention a great view?!?!? :)

How lucky are we to have such a great library in downtown OKC? I remember when it was being built in the 90s because my dad used to own a restaurant adjacent to it. I was a total book worm then and couldn't wait for it to open. Fast forward nearly 20 years and it still has its allure. It has just about everything you can hope for in a library. They often have speakers and events in their meeting rooms as well. I think this location does a great job of serving one of our most vulnerable populations, the homeless. It is a place to learn and better oneself, but also a great escape from the elements be it heat or cold. This might deter some people from visiting this location, but it I think it's cool for this public space to serve all walks of life.

A sleek flagship library, just a smidge too small and with poor options for parking.I was looking forward to seeing this library. A tradition I have is to visit the central library of every city I find myself in. It's smaller than it looks from the outside, but I enjoy the wedge shape of each floor.Ultimately it's small for a city this size, although there are plenty of seats and outlets to use.The major downside is there is no convenient parking nearby, and all meter spots are one-hour max, which is not enough time to make use of a library. Of course paying for parking anywhere should be a violation of the Geneva convention. A dedicated garage for the library would do wonders.

Books, movies, audio books, newspapers, events, and more. How have I not been here sooner??There is even a room with a pretty abundant selection dedicated to Oklahoma, though its hours are from 1:30 to 4:30 Monday through Thursday. I don't understand that one...Areas where you can sit and read. Computers. and Quiet rooms. Advertisements for events. Really, I could go on and on... but I think you should check it out for yourself.

This particular branch of the Metropolitan Library system is fantastic. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They have ample room to spread out to read and study, whether it be at a table, cozy chair, or a study room. Their children's area alone is worth the trip; it outshines their other branches by far. They have a huge selection of materials, their own computers for tutoring and homework, lots of tiny chairs to sit in, and even a bathroom close-by. They have weekly events for the kiddos so there is always something to do. The only downside to downtown is the parking. There used to be quite a bit of metered street parking out front, but it has been removed with construction, making parking a challenge. It is a challenge worth accepting though for hours of fun for everyone getting lost in the stacks.
