What a joke. There wasn't any heat in our building. We were not informed until after we arrived to check in.. Their resolution was a piece of paper on the door that told us to get extra blankets at the front desk. Also, no discount for the inconvenience. ANY other hotel would have either notified us before we arrived and/or offered a discount. Typical Air Force... you're better off staying off base even though it's a little more expensive. The people at the front desk hate their lives, service is terrible and the door keys have a mind of their own. The only reason this place exists is because it's the Air Force and they have a monopoly on TDY travelers. Absolute joke... The room was at least decent..

Lived here for 4 months during requal training. Let me first say that the housekeeping staff is friendly and hardworking. Also, it is convenient to the little that Altus AFB has to offer. 2 plusesUnfortunately, the place itself is pretty sad. Despite being accompanied they would not give me a TLF. If you have the option get a crash pad. The VOQ rooms are not suitable for more than one person. We had to make it work because of the convenience and only having one car. It is subsidized by the AF and is run like it. People are required to stay there so they know they will have a constant stream of occupancy. It seems they have little motivation to run a quality hotel. The rooms really need updating. The disposal in our sink was so old that the rusted blade broke off in my hand as I was trying to clear the drain. It took 4 calls over the span of 2 weeks for someone to finally attend to it. When they did come they removed the disposal and replaced it with a non-disposal drain. Cheap solution that downgraded the quality of the room as we had to constantly clear the clogged drains.Kitchens are minuscule and sinks are half the size of a normal sink. The faucet is actually longer than the sink so if you're not careful you can run water all over the counter, or floor. This isn't likely to make a difference as far as improvement but if you are coming to Altus and have the option to stay elsewhere, I would.

I lived here for 5 weeks while attending leadership school and if you are like me, you don't want anyone coming into your room when you are not there. Unfortunately there is an AFI mandate that states they have to go in your room at a minimum of every three days to service it. Other than that personal inconvenience the lodging was about as good as lodging on a small base can get. Pros: The staff is incredibly friendly!

Their day shift desk crew is incredibly incompetent.1) They go without heat throughout the year, but will refuse to give you non-A for off base.2) They will give you 12 hours notice to completely move to another building. If you're there for P/LIQ or other long course, they won't care if you have food in a suite. They'll try and move you to a single room dorm.3) Their notifications for moving aren't a week out or an intelligent phone call (they left a message the day of and said "this is so and so at the front desk..." and stopped talking).I would HIGHLY recommend not staying on base.

Third stop over on our trip. Room was standard military base type room. We found it adequate for our needs. AC cold, water was hot, bed was comfortable. Good place for overnight stay.

One of the worst places to stay on extended TDY in Altus.BLUF/TL-DR: Stay in a crash pad, off-base hotel, or a cardboard box. Anything is better than this dump! Myriad of small annoyances add up to make a very unpleasant stay.Where to start...A/C is centrally controlled...so, during the awkward transition weeks between spring/summer and fall/winter, you have to put up with not having A/C or heat until CE decides to switch the HVAC over. It's been high humidity and mid to upper 80's for a week now, fan and windows only...WiFi only in the rooms, and the service is abysmal. Download speeds of ~50-60kb/s...I've been here for 2 months already, and it goes out every 2-3 days. Have to call the internet company listed in the contact book to reset it.The "old" rooms do not have a kitchen, and the DFAC is closed from Spring '15 to Fall '15....not sure what those residents are eating, but I imagine that next PFA will be challenging! That being said, I'm in a new room and the kitchen still leaves a lot to be desired. For one, the faucet is normal sized and the sink is half sized, so it's nearly impossible to wash dishes without getting water all over the floor. The fridge opens in the opposite direction, so you have to exit the kitchen, turn around and then re-open. The electric stove (stove only, no oven) only allows one burner to be active at a time. Pans are not Teflon, cooking utensils are inexpensive and melt easily...the list goes on.Pros include walking distance from flight line/schoolhouse, golf course, gym, library, and short running trail. Staff is very friendly and caring, they do a superb job!
