I am very much a beginner guitar player and have only been taking lessons for about 6 months. I brought in my inexpensive Squire and Harley Benton electric guitars in last week, thinking they probably needed a professional set-up since they were affordable models that are mass produced in factories that probably don't exactly have a very robust quality control process vs. more expensive brands. I was expecting to just drop off my guitars and pick them up in a week or two but to my surprise he cleared off the counter and tested out both guitars and made and made adjustments to bridge and pick ups, electric jack and then made sure they were tuned precisely. He carefully inspected every inch of the guitars including fretboards and all individual frets etc. He advised me that there wasn't any reason for me to have him perform a full set-up as both guitars only required a few minor adjustments. He only charged me $24 and did all of the work on the spot. I inquired about any other products that he recommended for me to keep up the guitars and he advised me to just use guitar polish occasionally as needed and not to worry about oiling fretboard etc. until I needed to replace the strings. He very easily could have recommended and sold several products to me and as a beginner I wouldn't have known the difference so I sincerely appreciate his honesty and advice. I plan on bringing in my Epiphone Hummingbird acoustic to have him work his magic on that one when I get a chance in the next few weeks. I would highly recommend to anybody looking for professional guitar work from an honest business owner. I plan on patronizing his shop for all future guitar services while in OKC and hopefully eventually graduate to purchasing a more intermediate level guitar from his store when my skill level improves enough where it makes sense for me to invest in higher quality instruments.

Wow, so many guitars, so little time! Stopped in for the first time and was blown away by the coolness of this guitar store. They carried many brands, including the elusive and hard to find Artist Series Martin Acoustics, even had the Eric Clapton signature model. MARTIN PRICES were well under MSRP. Extensive inventory, I was focused on acoustics and they had hundreds, both new and used. Stayed for well over an hour. Store had a great vibe and staff were very friendly. Lots of regulars stopped in while I was there and I had a great time talking and playing. Store was well stocked with everything you could need guitar. You won't be disappointed. I'm going back to buy a guitar I played...

I've known James Rawson for over 30 years as a great friend and businessman and have bought most of my equipment from him over the years. Gives great advice on your needs and goes beyond to get you set up.

I used Honest Ron's and Norman Music; which have both went out of business. Took a guitar to Rawson's and it was repaired professionally. I recommend this business.

The bald middle aged man working the counter made this store unbearable. As soon as I walked in he profiled me from the get-go. After asking several questions about equipment and receiving one word answers, I began to try and test out a few amplifiers when I was asked repeatedly if I was specifically looking for something. I finally responded by asking if he had any effects boxes I could look at d he responded by saying the only ones were right in front of him. After looking through some of them I asked if he had any "delay" boxes in which he sternly answers no. I proceeded to look down and find a "delay" box. Moral of story, guy was a jerk from the go and I will never go back there.
