I was surprised by the amount of independent/boutique businesses in Oklahoma City. I was also impressed by the art enclave, filled with restaurants and galleries, flanked by the Plaza Walls. Colorful murals, welcoming vibe. Some are rough around the edges, some are very advanced and well done. Walkable neighborhood. Lots of on street parking. Worth your time to explore.

It's my Plazaure to write this review. The Plaza neighborhood is everything everybody says that it is. It's absolutely wonderful. It's a little hipster for my tastes, and some of the food and prices are not the best, but the liberal mentality and the art and the eclectic nature, and the vibrance and youth and energy here are second to none. Now this city can stand alongside the likes of Indianapolis with its Broadripple, and all of those other great neighborhoods in those great cities like Montrose Houston, Deep Ellum in Dallas and so on.Thanks for reading. It's been a Plaza.

Toto, I don't think we're in OKC anymore. I love this place--eclectic, weird, cool, great vibe.Might I suggest definitely starting at Oak and Ore, then wander across to Dig It, DNR, and Bad Granny's. Round it out with some ice cream or shaved ice!!!!

I love living here. There's always something fun to do within walking distance. Events are constantly be planned, so something is always in the works for the upcoming months. Keep a lookout for Facebook events and posters in local businesses. The people are quirky and uniquely themselves, making this neighborhood really feel like home. There is absolutely no pressure to fit into a certain mold. Renovations are happening all over the neighborhood, but there is an equal mix of old and new. The association tries really hard to keep people flowing into the community and experiencing all it has to offer. Their hard work has paid off over time, with this now being a neighborhood that people travel far to come to.

What a great spot to explore! This is a 2 block strip of shops and restaurants. It doesn't take long, but EVERY single service worker was so dang friendly! Some shops are boutiques, some resale, some gift shops. From the Oak and Oar to Goro Ramen to The Mule, all had awesome food and drink.

@PlazaDistrict is the best of the bunch as far as local neighborhood organizations go. There is no question but that Kristen V and here team at the Plaza District Association has been behind the exponential growth of The Plaza District. When I first got to know Plaza, there wasn't even a restaurant here. Now we have Saint's, Urban Wine Works, The Mule, Empire and most recently, Chiltepe's. So many cute shops, from Collected Thread to Bad Granny's, Velvet Monkey, and my favorite furniture in OKC: RetroOKC. One of my favorite event spaces, Photo Art Studios is here. Add Lyric Theatre and Pie Junkie, and the Plaza has my heart. In addition to these bricks and mortar buildings, I think Plaza is due a lot of the credit for our food truck scene. Trucks like Kaiteki, Twist and Frank's would probably agree. Giving these trucks a safe, nurturing area where they could be almost guaranteed to sell out once a month really helped new trucks feel like they could succeed. Roxy's will be bringing it all full circle when they open their bricks and mortar shop on Plaza this summer after several summers of one of the most adored local trucks around. The monthly Live on the Plaza (second Fridays) and the annual Plaza Festival (late September) just do such a good job of keeping people coming back for more. I went to Live on the Plaza last week and couldn't believe how many people were there, interacting, visiting, seeing old friends. I could not have had more fun, in that moment, than anywhere else on the planet. Well done, Plaza District staff, board, businesses and everyone who cares enough to spend their money here instead of the mall!

This is easily my favorite district in OKC. Huge variety of options, and all of them quality, local businesses. From art galleries to shops to bars and restaurants, there is something for everyone. And, it's the Association that provides the support and programming for the district. They put on monthly events with live music, artists, and programming (Live! on the Plaza), an annual arts and music festival, and even awards recognizing those who support local. The PDA does a great job spring everyone, and especially recruiting and taking care of volunteers who love the district. It's definitely worth a visit, or several.

I am constantly surprised and impressed with all of the fun happenings in the Plaza District. I think it's fair to say that this once developing district has become one of the most well developed of the local districts. The Plaza District Association does a great job of making fun, family friendly programming that can be enjoyed by everyone. The revitalization of the Plaza has paved the way for other districts in the city to put their spin on the community and create fun spaces to visit. I'm looking forward to see more creative ideas out of the Plaza!

I absolutely love and adore what they have done with the Plaza District and bringing it back to life with local artistic flavor! This is a must visit area for locals and out-of-towners alike. Lovely shops that feature local artists and offer beauty salon services, wine tastings, live music and performing arts, a monthly art walk, retro and vintage findings, and so so much more! One of my favorite places in OKC to visit and shop!

I have watched this area boom over time. I would frequent a few places there. However I recently received a private parking violation from American Parking Lots for 25/75.00. I was parked on the street! No markings or pay booth was visible as was blocked by trailers in parking lot.If free parking starts disappearing from this area expect a down turn in business for local shops. Sad really.. Greed is all it is.. I will not join in and many groups will be marking this area off their list for parties, luncheons and business meetings. Good luck
