Picante Grill 3

This was the worst food I ever got from them I don't know if they have different cook or what but can't even eat what I ordered very disappointed!

Very accommodating waitstaff and cook. We arrived around 9:20ish and had the wife go inside to ask if grill was still open and was told the waitress said yes come in. Family went in and I had to ask the waitress again if it's okay and she reassured us it okay and was very considerate to us. She promptly brought out chips, salsa and cheese dip. Chips were crisp and seasoned as well, cheese dip was warm and very goooooood. My kids enjoyed the salsa, it was good but I could've have it hotter. Our meals arrived quickly and hot. Kids really enjoyed their kids meals and ate it all. I had the cheese enchiladas and rice, It's that of any other cheese enchiladas elsewhere and the red sauce was really good. Rice really moist and flavorful. Wife had beef flautas with rice and enjoyed them, especially the guacamole. The waitress was very pleasant with us; we told her to thank the cook as well. Hopefully our tip showed our appreciation. I would recommend stopping by while staying nearby or traveling through.

I am going back and editing my original review to one that is much worse than the first one I gave. I went there tonight with the family because every other place in town was packed, but not this one. That should have been my first clue. They brought the chips and queso out and the cheese looked like Velveeta to start with. Tasted even worse! Just like Velveeta that had been watered down and there was a weird after taste. My wife order a Chili Reeno dinner and had to go to the bathroom before we even left the place because it was already upsetting her stomach so bad. I had ordered the steak and shrimp dinner. Huge disappointment. Steak was so thin it was unreal and over cooked because of that. They tried to pass off prawns for shrimp and there was so much batter on them they were practically uneatable. Needless to say I will not be going back!

I really loved the chips, salsa, and cheese. Good thing I didn't because I had two cups of both before our food came out. Unfortunately, we were about ready to leave by the time we finally received our food. My carne asada was very dry, but the Mexican potatoes were great. Overall probably won't be back.

Sub par food. I had tampuquena steak--it tasted like sweet and sour steak from Chinese restaurant. Was horrible. Mom got a chicken quesadilla which had hardly any chicken. Son and husband got nachos which were wierd and had hardly anything on them. Very underwhelming. We all felt sick after eating. Not a good experience.

We arrived at closing and they still took us and others after us. Very friendly and good food. Definitely would suggest this place. They work well as a team.

Don't bother. If I could give zero stars I would. Was driving from Chicago to Amarillo and hit Clinton about dinner time. Mexican sounded good and this place was right off I-40 so I am thinking I can get a decent meal and just cruise the last two hours of the drive. I walk in and wait 5 minutes to be seated before I am told just to have a seat. OK, they are busy, no problem. Sat for 10 minutes and someone brought out the worst looking stale tortilla chips with some salsa and queso that looked and tasted like it was cut with a mixture of 25% Velveeta and 75% water. The salsa was ok but after another 25 minutes waiting for my order to be taken, that would be my drink order, not my food I put $5 on the table to cover the free chips and salsa and walked out, never to return. I write this review the day after my visit which is about the time I would expect my food by now.

We went in at lunch time and order something simple. The waitress was friendly and it was quite clean inside. I ordered a lunch special "Two Fajita Tacos" - $6.75 and the taste was quite good. It is just a typical Mexican restaurant with descent food and friendly service. Nothing fancy though.

First of all let me say that the waitress was so friendly. She checked on us several times to ensure that we had everything we needed. I ordered the tamale dinner and my hubby had the chicken flautas. We both finished off our plates. My hubby especially liked the cheese dip that came with the tortilla chips. Overall, it was a nice place for dinner.
