Pete's Place

We were traveling and hadn't been to Pete's in probably over 10 years so we just had to stop. Service was sweet and attentive. We were placed in our own little private dinning room. The Garlic bread arrived first and it was so warm and delicious!! Then the salad. I know some don't understand the hype about iceberg lettuce with vinegar and oil, but it is so delicious and refreshing. Especially with the cheese and olives and peppers. I ate my ravioli and meatballs first, and then tried the steak and spaghetti. It's just like going Home for a Home cooked meal. I just can't explain it. It "feels" just as good as it tastes! That's Amore!!

Lunch with friends at Petes last Friday. Living in OKC means we don't get to Petes often but it's on our must do list when we can make it happen. This time we were on our way to Queen Wilhemena lodge which made it easy.If you're not familiar with Petes it's an iconic restrauant rich in history and tradition. They're in a relatively new building with individual dining rooms that provide for a private, intimate dining experience Each of us ordered the Italian Lunch, an ample plate of spaghetti with two meat balls, and ravoli. The menu indicated that two ravoli came with the dish, but each our plates had five ravoli. The sauce is delectable. The complimentary bread is very good. The service was excellent. The prices moderate.

Such a unique experience! We stopped by on our way back to DFW and it was worth it. I ordered the grilled chicken and it came with spaghetti (delicious sauce!) a meatball and ravioli. Everything was delicious.

We stopped here on the way back from Dallas to Tulsa recently. Seating was immediate, and the food started coming quickly. Small nibbles of cheese and tasty bread helped set the stage. A simple Italian salad is also served and a nice starter. It's basically a family style place with everyone enjoying certain Italian favorites such as spaghetti and ravioli. We tried the chicken parm, Italian sausage, fried shrimp, and lasagna. Sharing is a good idea so everyone can try a little bit of it all. Now this was my first time, so I was not familiar with the "private room" seating and such. We were in an interior room, so no windows. Seemed like dining in an office conference room. The service was very good though - attentive but not overbearing. Food quality was average - I'm not a fan of large volume and unfortunately often overcooked pasta... this seemed mass produced versus a made to order and personally more appealing al dente where appropriate. It's a fun experience for a large group, but I wouldn't describe it as exceptional due to the food quality. They've been there a very long time, so as with many places, it's definitely a matter of personal preference -- and clearly LOTS of people love the place.

I've never left a bad review but here we go. Had always heard about this place so stopped on our way home from a weekend at Robbers Cave. The food prices were very high, but we went for it thinking it would be worth it. Far from it and we felt robbed that I could make better Italian food at home for under $10. No flavors or seasoning, super bland and no Italian flare that you would think - basically the most basic flavorless, un-creative food ever. It was $35 for shrimp Alfredo and they brought out a plate of it the size of my hand! Thought it was supposed to be family style aka large plates! Also they make you buy an entree per person so you don't really get any "free" or "included" food at all like the menu would allude. Our service was not great either. We felt silly after eating here, I feel like it's a tourist trap that we fell for. Will not go back or recommend, sorry. The only reason I did not leave 1 star is because I feel like 1 star is reserved for the absolute worst and this place at least was edible it just wasn't good.

Fried chicken is great. Meatballs are great. Bread is a bit underwhelming but good. I have eaten here several times. Salad is good. Service was always good.

My wife and I went with our 1 year old and we wanted to share because the meals are $27-$40 a piece but they wouldn't allow us to share at all. I read another review that they charged a couple who shared. We left because we couldn't justify that kind of money and wasting food That is just crazy. Now if your meals were $10-$14 like Mío Modos or Roseanna's then okay but we wouldn't have eaten even half of the food and it would've gone to waste. Outrageously priced for average food. I do not recommend.

2 star food. 4 star service and ambiance. So I give it a 3.The red sauce is very bland. I see someone on another review said school cafeteria taste and I can't disagree. The salad was just iceberg lettuce. We did have the fried shrimp and they were good but not $28 for 6 shrimp good.Service was great and fast and the beer was cold.The best thing about this place is the neat little private dining rooms and the history.

Still has food that taste like a elementary school lunch room. Prices are ridiculous for the food you get. Really sad it used to be awesome.

Seems like Pete et al have lost their way at some point. Pasta sauce tastes weird. Tomato puree and water top the ingredient list. Lots of different spices to attempt to cover the commercial taste. Dinner is about twice the price as Rosanna s down the street. Lasagna came with bread, antipasto, and a platter of spaghettoni big enough for 4-6 people.Wait Staff were top-notch, seating is in private rooms, nice.Doubt I'll be back.
