Newman's Firehouse BBQ

Decent first experience, but I think they have more potential. They were located on Tinker AFB today and I ordered the special which was a Cornish hen, 2 ribs, garlic potatoes, and baked beans. Once I ordered, the gentlemen working told me that was the last hen for the day. I looked at my watch and it was only 1105. They just opened not to long ago, so I thought that was kind of odd. Maybe bring more to last at least 30 minutes into service. Especially since the hen was seasoned and cooked perfectly! It made the meal. The ribs were ok, maybe a little too much pepper for my liking, but they have a really good hot BBQ sauce. Along with that they have to go containers of Head Country which I like. Garlic potatoes have me scaring off vampires, and the beans were typical. Like I said before, friendly and fast service along with good options, so the potential is there. Today I felt like it was just average, but I would go again.

I can't believe a food truck wouldn't have to-go containers. Only the red/white paper bowls, no lids for the bbq sauce, and then acted offended that I asked for a sack to transport my lunch back to my office. The meat was overcooked and dry.I will not patronize this food truck EVER again.
