It seems that the rule of thumb for Chinese restaurants is that the more items they have on the menu, the worse it is. Logically, this makes sense, but "Mr Hui" completely defies that logic since EVERY item here was amazing to perfect. This establishment gives a TON of food for the value, and it's almost daylight robbery on how much they give for the quality. Whether it be the lo mein, mala chicken, bean tofu, and even the steamed rice, there was a considerable amount given with nothing to complain about. I do want to comment on one thing, though. And it's definitely a good thing: This place is family owned, and you can tell from the kids helping clean up, which always brings a nice smile to my face. The food's also clearly made with love, and the waitress/owner/mother(?) was incredibly nice throughout, even commenting on the day, etc. and putting in the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. If this place being a mom and pops shop isn't good enough of a reason to come here and support them, then surely the food would, especially for its value. Coming back for the value and the business for sure!

Our family gathered in the OKC area for a Christmas get together. Per our family tradition we sought out Chinese food for dinner and landed up upon Mr. Hui in Norman. We got the crew in the cars and rolled in right at 6pm. Thankfully, one large circle table was available for our crew of five plus a couple of kids. The joint was filled with Door Dashers and some early Diners so we know we were in for a wait and settled in by setting our expectations accordingly. Apparently it was "wear" your pajama pants day in Norman at least 80% of the clientele were abiding by that rule.We had some inclination that our ordering and food getting process might have its challenges when our high-school/college-ish server took our order absent of initiative and assertiveness. We ordered up some starters: egg drop soup, served relatively fast, which those in our party liked very much along with 2 orders of crab rangoon which took at least 45 minutes to an hour to make and serve. (I inquired about their arrival to our table and the lacking of initiative server just shrugged his shoulders, saying he didn't know when they might be done, looking like he was afraid to go into the kitchen and ask about them.) Once delivered they were okay to fair. Our wait continued....Door Dasher's came and went, the dining room cleared out leaving us and one or two other tables waiting. Another server seemed to be getting her food out to patrons. We wondered about our orders, I asked again, same response, shrugged shoulders. We all wondered when "Hui" were going to get our food. When some in our party needed to go to the restroom and do a diaper change on the baby in our party (out in the vehicle mind you since there was no diaper changing station in the restroom) the staff came and asked if our party was still present or left - this was at about the 1:45min mark - they told us they were finally making our food. We said yes, we were all present and wanted our dinner and the food finally started arriving.4 out of our 5 entrees arrived warm or hot, one was stone cold, the General's Chicken. Apparently it was made when the war ended several dynasty's ago. This was certainly disappointing, the accompanying broccoli felt like it had been directly pulled from the freezer. He declared his disappointment to our server that after waiting for almost 2 hours this was unacceptable. Our server - shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. A brief exchange of can you warm it up took place, a microwave was mentioned and then finally a lady who appeared to be the Adult or manager in charge came out to make things right. All in all the food was good, not great. The service was not good, (I get it, Christmas, lots of orders and all) it could have been better, so much better. It was abundantly clear that some of the staff needed training and equipping in customer service relations and communications. The restaurant needs a consultant to review their entire process. There may not be other options on a Christmas evening, but if there are, you might be more pleased.

Mr. Hui has a lunch special Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM for $9.45, a spectacular deal. This Chinese restaurant is located on Lindsay, one of the main streets that runs through OU campus. The hot & sour soup was delicious. The hot & spicy beef lacks variety: a few slices of beef stir fried with bell peppers, onions, and carrots. All that food for under $10 so I can't really complain. The restaurant was pretty much empty on a Saturday lunch. The food came out lightning quick. The soup came out instantly. Before you could finish the soup, the entree will already be out. It's a nice restaurant. Wish it would be more busy though.

Decent quality Chinese food in a spacious interior. Service was prompt and excellent. Had some confusion over some of the menu items like the Taiwanese noodle bowl which I thought had noodles but was in reality just a bowl made from noodles. Good dumplings and the spicy chicken was not bad. Their drinks (like the hot ginger milk tea and iced Royal milk tea) were great! Recommended if you are ever passing through Norman and looking for a nice Chinese restaurant.

Authentic Chinese food. Fast, hot and fresh. The egg drop soup was so good. Little too much breading of the general tso chicken but it was still delicious.

Unassuming place that's spectacular! It's a quaint restaurant with big flavor! I got the kung fu combo with three meats and peanut vegetable stir fry and it filled me to the brim. The staff was friendly and the service was great! My wife had General Tsao's chicken (I never realized she was a military woman) and I was giddy as a school girl. Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for good Chinese food in Norman. They have basically every type of dish you could want!

Fantastic Chinese Food - can't go wrong with the dumplings and Mongolian beef. Also love their wonton soup or sizzling rice soup (especially on a rainy day). For the health conscious, give the mushy chicken a try - has great flavor while not being too high in calories. If not counting calories, definitely recommend the Royal Milk Tea. Professional staff and calm environment - though busy during lunch (as expected of a local favorite). Will be coming back!
