Minick Materials

I realized today when I stopped by Minick materials that I had not yet reviewed it on yelp! So I pulled out my my camera on my phone and clicked some pictures and here I am to sing the praises of Minick materials. Our purpose today was to look at some of their products and do some comparing to see exactly what we needed for a future project we would be doing. Our family has been using the supplies that are sold here for sometime. We have purchased landscaping rock, aka chop, along with mulch, flagstone and crushed rock with screenings. We have done many home-improvement projects over the years and we always enjoy the fabulous customer service that we get each time we visit Minick materials. In fact today, the staff was so sweet and kind as to give each of my children a gift from under their Christmas tree! My youngest daughter felt that gesture was extremely thoughtful and all were so grateful.The pros: Excellent products, top rate customer service, extremely professional employees, highly knowledgeable staff, prices are very reasonable and finally they make obtaining what you need hassle free. They do offer delivery but we have always used our trailer to pick up our purchase. I have even sent my landscaper over to have him pick items up and with a simple phone call I can pay over the phone so that he can deliver them to my house.I cannot think of any cons about this business at all. I hope you enjoy your visit to Minick materials as much as we do.

Come one come all. This is the place! Have a vision and want to landscape yourself, they got you. Rocks of all kinds, boulders, border rocks, railroad ties, potting soil, compost, garden soil, mulch, etc in mounds. You just bring your muscle and containers and get it. Or they can deliver for a fee. But seriously, this place has been lifesaving and the staff is so friendly and helpful.

I have gotten 4 truck loads of dirt and rocks from here and the prices are the best in town. The staff are always friendly and the person running the loader has always taken great care in getting the materials in the back of my truck.

I got to check this place out today. I had no idea this was here, but they have an amazing selection of rock, cobblestones, flagstone, pavers, stonework, and all the cool stuff to make ponds and patios and paths. There are also tons of super cool pots, planters, and other containers that I don't know the names for. They do all manner of workshops here, for free. They also have a really neat set-up: you fill up your truck with sand or dirt or whatever, and then you pull onto a big scale. They weigh it, and give you a ticket, and then you pay at a little drive thru window. I didn't take it to that level yet, but I did buy a small turquoise pot for my mom. That's me dipping my toes into the gardening world. Well, toe. I am really glad to know about this local spot!

I can't believe this is the product they are selling. I probably paid for more mud than rock.

Easily the best place I've found to source material for residential and commercial projects. Huge fan of the company.

I have ordered quite a bit of material from this company for my drive and have been satisfied with my purchases each time. The delivery drivers are efficient and the salesmen are very kind. Chance and Ashly have been very helpful and sure know their stuff. I do not have any negative comments regarding this business.

Inflated prices, bad customer service; that pretty much sums it up. Save your money and time go directly to the source to get the material you need. They buy most of their material (river rock, sand) from Dolese or Haskell Lemon Construction Co. 3800 SW 10th St Oklahoma City, OK 73108 (405) 835-2094 then they just mark the price up 30%. Haskell Lemon Construction actually make the material themselves so they can sell it much cheaper than Minick Materials. Customer service is severely lacking. Most of the staff seems incompetent. Miss placed orders, late deliveries, no--shows, or gives you the wrong material and passes it off as something else. If you're not a contractor and cannot get what you need from the places I mentioned above go to Edmond Rock. The sad thing is there are several contractors that have done business with Minick Materials for years and are unaware of how badly they are getting screwed or maybe they are aware and just pass the inflated cost of material on to their customers. You may want to find out who your landscaper is using to purchase the material from--could save you money.

Prices for a pallet of mossy boulders was excellent! Delivery was right on schedule. Rick McElhaney delivered the pallet and placed each boulder carefully and to our wishes. Highly recommend Minick Materials Norman - Edmond location awesome, too!
