This is a truly awesome place for an event, and the Federal Bar Association had their Holloway Lecture there this year. It is truly a "Hall of Mirrors" and Instagrammable as well. Great place to hold an event!

What a great location for a wedding with beautiful sunset and evening views of downtown OKC! High lovely ceilings and large room for both ceremony and dance floor all in one. I love the civic center in OKC and this Hall of Mirrors is always a fancy event area to party with friends and family!

This one star is for the pretty room. It is a pretty room. This place might be great for like a career fair or something, but not for weddings!! Trust us. This was a terrible experience for me and my groom on our wedding day. So here's the run-down: 1) We dealt with one person (Kelly) up until the day of the event, and had a different person scheduled as our coordinator for the actual event. The problem with this is that we got conflicting information on the day of our event than from the person we initially dealt with. For example, the initial person said we could turn down the lights for our wedding reception to create ambiance, while the second person freaked-out and said it was against fire code (really?). Doesn't sound like a big deal, and it isn't, but the woman went nuts about this. This is just not the stuff you want to be dealing with on the day of your wedding day.BTW: Kelly or whoever will tell you that it's easiest to go through their caters due to insurance for alcohol and that it's nearly impossible to get it---uh, not true. It's easy peasy and cheap to buy the 1,000,000 coverage. So, don't feel like you are locked-in to their suggested list.2)The coordinator refused to let anyone into the hall until the exact time, including the wheel-chair bound grandmother of the groom. This is not an exaggeration, she was literally standing in front of the door shooing guest away. 3)On the day of our wedding we were told we were to end our wedding one hour earlier than what the brochure and contract had said, so instead of enjoying our wedding day we had to haggle on what time it was supposed to end. The coordinator could not get a hold of her supervisor to confirm, so instead of listening to us, she was steadfast on the end time (keep in mind that it was Memorial Day, so maybe read in-between the lines of her work ethic.) Note: We had flown-in a band from North Caroline, so it really did make a difference to us. Again, haggling over times is not what we wanted to do on our wedding day.4)After the wedding reception we contacted both Kelly and the General Manager. The indifference they showed to our experience and the unprofessionalism of their staff was the most remarkable thing of the whole experience. Basically, we were told that they believed their employee and that she had not told us to leave early...seriously, that's something we would make-up just to add to the memories of our wedding day?So, maybe the Civic Center didn't believe us, but all we can say is: believe us. Unless you want to take a gamble on the day of your reception and hope that you get the right staff working for you...don't risk your wedding reception. You will basically be left to the whims of whoever seems to be working that day. And, as far as recourse, ultimately we got the feeling that they really didn't care since they were city employees and it didn't matter anyways.

I plan on posting this everywhere this venue has reviews, so people know what they are getting into: If I could give 0 stars, I would. My fiance and I wanted to book our wedding here. Initially, we were very impressed with the venue and the people we originally spoke to and showed us around. We immediately filled out their preliminary information sheet and waited to receive our contract/permit to make our reservation official. After waiting more than a month, we reached out and were told there would be a slight delay because their employee's house burned down, which is obviously tragic. We waited almost 4 months before we reached out again (because we had still not heard anything from them) only to be told that a different employee would now be helping us get our contract. Over the next month and half we patiently and courteously worked with said employee to get our contract, and in fact we did get a contract, twice, both times with the contract containing incorrect dates, which you think would be pretty important to get correct the first time. We asked the employee to please fix the contract, again, and after having to follow up again because she didn't seem capable of answering emails the first time around, she said she would have it to us by the next Monday. Well, Monday came and went, and to no one's surprise, the corrected contract was never sent. We decided to move on and find a venue run by competent and reliable people. Fast forward another 4 months, and someone from the Civic Center calls my fiance to ask when we would be ready to sign our contract. HA! Over 9 months after originally wanting to book this venue, and they act like we were the ones that weren't fulfilling our obligation! It would be funny if it weren't so breathtaking how incompetent they were through the entire process. Needless to say, we won't be having our wedding here, and we couldn't be happier it didn't work out. Since going through this experience, we have heard numerous horror stories about this place and its employees. Also, beware because if there is an event here on your wedding day, it will be total madness and your guests will have nowhere to park. It's a beautiful room and building, so I hope they are able to get rid of the people we worked with and replace them with professionals who actually are good at planning and managing events.
