We decided to try Meiji since we hadn't been here before. We ate on the restaurant side, not hibachi side, on a Saturday at lunch. Here are the pros and cons. Pros - Decor is cute, they switched out the low stools for more comfortable seats for us, service was excellent. The salad dressing was really delicious, and since the last menu posted on Yelp was four years old I can confirm that, amazingly, some of the prices have not changed in 4 years. - The server did not try to upcharge us. The steak hibachi was listed as $26 and that's what we were charged. At some other hibachi places we have ended up with a $50 entree thanks to unexpected add ons and up charges. Disappointments - -After reading the menu's lovely Japanese chef intro & invitation to greet him if he was in house, I was a little surprised, amused, and disappointed when our server said all the chefs are Mexican. No harm in being Mexican - we happen to love their cuisine also, but the flavors were slightly off / didn't taste authentic, and I think this is why. - I had to ask for chopsticks, and the server seemed confused and wasn't sure they had any (they did). - Our food came out as it was ready, which is fine although I prefer it if the server explains that in advance - but by the time the fried rice arrived, the steak was cold. - The sushi tasted a little "off". Not fresh or authentic. It is notable that the last menu posted here says Saturday includes lunch prices, but they've changed that now to Monday - Friday. No problem, just mentioning it since their website menu doesn't mention this that I can see. - We ordered one steak hibachi plate, one ramen, and one order of sushi (8 pieces). It was a ton of food and we ended up bringing home most of the steak and fried rice. The next time we want Japanese food, we will go to one of the many other more authentic establishments in the OKC area.

Well, I hate to do this but, you get what you earn. Maybe, maybe if you come here by yourself the service is good. We came as a large group and let me say, we arrived at around 6:30pm; it's 8:00pm now and the grill is still cold.Let's clarify this, Meji has a hibachi section and we had nine of us at a nine top hibachi table. This is not unusual for a hibachi restaurant. This happens every Saturday night multiple times. A restaurant like this should be prepared. I have never been to a hibachi restaurant where this was the case. When I'm paying this much for a dinner I expect better than IHOP service and attention. Actually, skip that, I don't want to be rude to IHOP. It will take a lot of thought before I darken the door here again. Two of our party switched to kitchen service due to the wait. They're finished with their meals and here I sit. An hour and a half...well surprise, surprise, here is the chef. Don't need the show just cook my damn food at this point. Actually considered cancelling it all and going to Waffle House.Let's talk about the food, now two hours after we arrived. Honestly, it was forgettable. The fried rice was salty as was the steak and the vegetables. The traditional sauce cups you normally find at the hibachi table were missing. Just, not what I expect from a $30 a plate hibachi restaurant. I will say though, Jamie, our server, was accommodating, apologetic, and excellent. She gets five stars for her efforts.

Pretty solid sushi. Decent hibachi. It's less crowded than similar options at around the same price.

Sushi is still great and the veteran staff is still amazing...the newer staff and manager not so great! This is one of our favorite places to go, but this was by far not our best eating out experience here or anywhere

Food was not bad. We sat in non-hibachi side (although ventilation is so bad we might as well have been over there). Wasn't fond of sitting on a wooden saddle either. As I said the food was good. Although the (chicken and 2 shrimp) was not what I ordered (chicken and scallops). I brought it to their attention. I still wound up paying full price. Waiter was nice but was pretty clueless about menu, but he may have been new. I probably would not go back unless I was in town and the group just wanted hibachi.

Went with a group of friends. We all ordered the hibachi. Came w soup, salad, rice, veg and protein. We all sat around the large table, person at the end of the table essentially got the leftovers of fried rice, veggies, etc. She def got the short end of thing. Disappointing for sure. Service was ok. I don't know if I'd go back.

I was super excited before coming here! I was doing a random lookup for sushi because I was craving. Usually close to home would be volcano sushi, but tonight I felt like trying something new. Let me tell you my expectation for this place was high walking in. Beautiful and fun environment. You got your tables, sushi bar and kitchen on your left. The right side you have your hibachi side (which is so entertaining! Great for food cooking show with your family where the chef cooks right in front of you) this is my first time here so I didn't get to experience the hibachi side. We decided to sit at the tables to night. Started out with soup and salad. These were complimentary! Clear soup was bland. Had a seafood taste but very watery. The salad was good. I got the ginger salad dressing. For Appetizers, we ordered the salmon cupcake. Very very disappointing cause it came out cold! ! I thought it was going to be a sashimi slice raw salmon but instead it was cooked cold salmon on a bed of a very weird sweet but citrusy sauce. It just didn't make sense for me. Also bland and sweet. It's missing flavor. Expectations went down from here. Lol although I did love our waiter! He was attentive and friendly! Sushi came next. We ordered the red Barron ( the tuna ball on top threw me off so bad. I'm usually not picky but man it was an off red color and blanddddddd. I was sad lol I just took off the tuna and hate the roll with the jalapeños on top. Lol the next sushi roll was THUNDER! This one I liked a bit more. Lol BUT THEY cubed the immigration crab instead of shredding it lol it just felt like everything was all wrong for me lmao i guess I was expecting more authenticity lol Last but not least, garlic fried rice. Didn't taste the garlic but that's ok. It's the best the we had. But still not my fav. My husband and I assume it's same owner as "feast" next door (Chinese food buffet). Aka the Tamago that came out looks like buffet Tamago lol we had to make a small joke lol Anyways! Pls like my post if you agree hahahaOur bill came out to 60$ before tip. I would much rather take my money to Tokyo and or Neko although this was was cheaper. So sad it didn't work out! Still took care of my servers. Hopefully I'll give them another chance in the future.

This is what was put in my ramen at 11:15. This meat was at least 5 days old. Same for the unexpected ground pork. Serving this to someone tells me everything I need to know about your quality expectations. Never stepping foot in this place again
