Those that have been following me may know my kryptonite by now, the dangerous compliments. The staffs at Maya's Kitchen are not only friendly but also honest and insightful. Nothing can better demonstrate my point except a direct quote from one of the workers "It seems like people with the name Tuan are usually handsome." I may have taken the statement face value but I can't argue with that. Let's get back to Maya's Kitchen, shall we? I love the yellow wall paint, ceiling fans, and tables and chairs. Everything looks spotlessly cleaned. The menu offers a variety of food options. I like the inclusion of street food although I did not have a chance to try during this visit. The crab meat soup and the Hanoi Chicken Combo Noodle Soup were good. The crab meat soup was the better soup, especially if you add a thousand year egg to it. The broth of the Hanoi Chicken Combo Noodle Soup was rich and flavorful but I would say most people would prefer Vietnamese pho or Vietnamese Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, including myself. Based on the food alone, I would give Maya's Kitchen 4/5, but the compliment being taken face value trumps over everything else. Thus I am forced to give up the last star to Maya's Kitchen.

It was busy on Sat afternoon, we waited long for our food since there are only 3 people running the restaurant. Couple dishes we wanted to try were sold out. So we ordered:- Banh Canh Trang Bang , Bun Thang HaNoi: very ordinary, nothing special. Broth is very sweet, chao quay was rock hard, must soak it into broth to soften them. Pretty sure there are lots of MSG in broth since I was super tired after, I'm sensitive to MSG. - Xoi Chien - deep fried part was rock hard. portion is small in size, little stuffing. It was okay, I personally won't order again. - Banh Dong Xu - nothing special, like pancake with cheddar cheese. The owner is nice and polite. Cute little restaurant, clean & good vibe but not having much spaces.

The food at this place is amazing. I came back here twice in one week. This little hidden gem is by Nichol hills, it is like your usual Asian restaurant not fancy but clean. The owner(guy) is very friendly and nice. You can see all the hardworking ladies cooking in the kitchen. Banh Xeo is very crispy and fresh, not as oily as the other places. I love the stirred fried sweet potato noodles with crab and shrimp, so much flavor and umami. I never have Hanoi egg coffee before, make sure you stir it well before you drink it, they can make it strong or mild, I can really taste the egg flavor. They have sticky rice on the menu, sweet and savory, great for my sticky rice craving. The food comes out super fast. This place reminds me the restaurants with super amazing street food with quick service, not fancy but clean and homemade, you will come back over and over again.Ambience: 10/10Food: 10/10Price: 10/10Service: 10/10

Adding to my first review with awesome new food items I got to try, including the crab noodles with tomato soup, the Yang Chow fried rice, pomelo jelly and a cat paw shaped panna cotta disk integrated into a boba milk tea drink. It was all fantastic and again Maya cooks dishes that you simply can't find anywhere else! Definitely check this place out!

We got the food to go, but the owner was so friendly and nice, we decided to stay and eat there. Service was amazing. The food was so fresh and not oily at all. Pretty authentic as well. I highly recommend all three items, but get the large order for the soup as my kids ate it all up. Portion size is great too. We will be coming back soon.I forgot to get a picture of the fresh taro drink, but again, everything was amazing!

Maya's Kitchen- on Western by Trader Joe's. In the Big Sky Bread shopping center. Old Snow Pea location. We enjoyed our food tonight. It was fresh, delish and they were fast. She has a variety of Vietnamese street food. A must try! Cute little joint with some yummy foods! She also has fresh flan and crispy flower sweet thing. Place is small but cute inside. Service was great.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. However, the experience was not as good as I anticipated. From the moment we started our order it was frustrating. There is a qr code, 2 sheet of paper laminated menu by the register or a board menu away from the order window for you to pick from. The menu is extensive with soups like pho to various noodles, rice and appetizer/ street food options. The people working were nice, however, the language barrier made it a challenge to order. The young man taking our order at the register didn't understand the name of the items that we were reading off the menu and there were items on the menu that they didn't have. I had to point to each item on the paper menu or my phone and then read the vietnamese words underneath the dish name for him to understand the food being ordered. So it is best to look up the menu before you order, read off the Vietnamese words as best as you can and choose a few backup options. A big menu where you can point at would have made ordering easier rather than a couple small printed menu or phone. We ordered beef pho that didn't come out as requested with just beef slices. It was quite bland and oily with not many appropriate sauce options to add for flavor. The basil leaves were poor quality with mostly black spots on the leaves so it was not really appealing. The chili was also not appealing as it was a tiny amount in a plastic thimble size container and it looked old or of poor quality too. We had to ask for additional lime. We Would not recommend pho. None of us enjoyed the flavor. Both the dry instant ramen noodles with shrimp dish and The sweet potato noodle with crab and shrimp were better. They were large portions with a definite msg flavor. 2 out of 3 liked each of the noodle dishes. Other items we ordered- The boba explosion drink was a poor choice of boba thrown together that tasted funny in tea. We also tried crunchy rice with pork floss and 1 out of the 3 of us enjoyed it. It was crunchy rice cake on the outside with a slightly sweet sauce on the pork sauce. The 2 other appetizers were ok-eggrolls and springrolls (dipping sauce was only hoisin sauce leaving a very bland springroll if you don't like hoison sauce alone for spring roll). There were mostly empty bottles of sriracha, or various Kinder sauce bottles which made unusual sauce options for asian food. They were unsurprisingly unopened. The food had various flavors mixed together in each meal but plates were a hit or miss along with the drink. The dipping options and side options did not help improve our meal. Although the owners seemed nice, we left feeling a little confused with the experience and will probably not return.

Food was mid but there are much better places in okc. I got chicken pho and there was only bones and no meat. Not too many noodles neither. But the food was hot!! And service was good. But I understand why no one was here!!

Food was decent but there was no table service as it's a self-served kind of place. Restaurant is not too big. This used to be Snow Pea in Nichols Hills.
