You're Number 1 at Lumber 2!
Stopped by to pet the cuties!! Customer service was on point! Friendliest staff! They let me take a bunch of boxes to help me with my move.

This location has good selection on feed for the farm as well as good farm basics. I do wish they had a little better selection on the lumber so I did not have to go to the evil big box stores. That said, they have really knowledgeable workers who are able to help out in finding just the right stuff you need when it comes to your livestock. Prices are good and the service is friendly. The worst part about this store is trying to get out of the parking lot and across the busy road if you need the highway. We almost always just go north and circle back. Not holding that against them though, traffic has grown a lot over the years. Just be prepared!

They definitely have on and off days. There's one guy in there that's a total freaking prick. I don't think he likes to work. You can't get information on their website. There's no corporate office to call about products. When they're good they're good when they're bad they're terrible

Cut to the chase: Ordered a large pole barn kit with upgraded metal. Delivery truck had a pallet of Quick Crete sitting on top of metal. Sheet metal was bent and the trim was ratcheted down with tie downs that bent the trim. Concrete bags were faded and were completely set up due to being set out in the rain and weather for a long period of time. So this young kid, by himself tilted the bed and unloaded this bad load of crap. He bent the sheet metal on the back as it hit the ground with a pallet of concrete sitting on top of it while I am just shaking my head in confusion. So I explained that I was not accepting this and he needed to take it back. He called some one and I got my tractor and loaded this stuff back up for him. He was very polite as I was. He did not load this stuff and he was just doing what he was told. He came back with another load of Quick crete that I should have inspected further, but I am use to taking people at there word. They replace the top bags with new but not the rest so they were set up and not any good. The sheet metal on this load was great. Or so I thought. They replace the top piece and unloaded it the same way and damaged the end of it again. So he loaded it back up again and took it back. The next day the manager of the store called and accused my wife and I of being mean to the driver which was completely un-true. The Manager got very derogatory with my wife and so I took the phone. Like I explained...I just want what I paid for. He told us he would send out the material(sheet metal) but told us to never come to Lumber 2 again. I was happy to get my metal. The metal came and they unloaded it again the same way and had it banded with out boards or cardboard to protect it. Met al got damaged at end when it was unloaded , but at this point who cares. After I got the building frame up and un-banded the metal.... I realized they had taken all the damaged sheet metal and put it in the middle and put a new sheet on top. so all of it was bent and damaged and scraped up. What a mess. This wasn't even the worst of it.... When we un-banded the wood we realized that all of the lumber was culled junk lumber that was twisted, split, warped trash lumber. I went to Lowes and spent another $350 dollars on lumber to put it together. Most of the Lumber was not usable. The post were so crooked that we had to off set them in concrete to use them at all. The hard ware provided was not the proper type for this building. They didn't even include lap screws for the sheet metal installation. But they did include a $65.00 dollar box of stainless screws that were not needed. I still have these.....Not sure what to do with them? Oh, don't forget that I had to buy more Quick Crete because it had been wet and was set up. This was a bad experience all the way. I'm not one to post about a company but please show Lumber 2 that they can't scam people with this kind of material and treat people this way. Lumber 2 should not be in business. Hope I can help others from being taken advantage of the way we were. Thanks for reading!

Don't buy and live animals from this place they make a practice of suffocating them by not providing adequate packing with air holes. we purchased live chickens (chicks ) and they were all dead by the time we got them home! they make a practice of this! a humane way to ship or pack a live animal is to provide adequate are holes on the box or paper bag so they can breath!

I had been with my husband to pick up larger items outside, but had never ventured inside this store. I had no idea what I was missing!! After just one visit, I am a huge fan of this store. I only have one other Lumber 2 in-store experience to compare it to, but I have been in many of the competitors'. This store was bright, clean, well organized, and the staff was exceptional. Greg was very knowledgeable and insightful, as he assisted and guided us in locating and purchasing the best products to meet our needs. We purchased quite a large number of chicks, because this store carries breeds that were not easily found, without ordering or traveling. Their chicks were healthy and well kept. We had quite an enjoyable experience. We would DEFINITELY recommend this store to anyone, and we will be going back.

I have shopped at Lumber 2 for 16 or more years without any issues, and I have spent a significant amount of my money there and always refer family, friends and general contractors that I know there. However, today I came in to purchase 4 bags of dirt that I can buy at Home Depot and Lowes at the same price or a bit less here in the next few weeks without some cashier for the 1st time in 16 years requesting my ID for my checkcard because she must had had a six sense about a brother buying 8 bucks of dirt wearing headphones, when I have come in there on many occasions and purchased 30 fence panels without being harassed. I also witnessed her not asking other customers for their ID. So I asked her why are you asking me, whats the problem? And she tells me its our store policy that we check ID. For what ever reason, and I am not sure, but I gave her my ID and purchased the dirt. But I did not feel good afterwards because I know that she only asked for my ID because I was African American and she knows it also. Also, it is the 1st time I have been asked for ID in Lumber 2 and I was offended by the way she asked and the rational which was not one especially when I seen her not ask other people for theirs that were paying with cards. Also, considering that Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes all have self checkout which clearly demonstrates that they don't want your ID, they want your business and money. I will just go to one of the 3 going forward. It is time for this mess to stop. And they way it is stopped is if more people than the victims of bigotry start complaining and boycotting businesses and employers have to demand better as well.

Great hardware and lumber store, everything you need for farm and home construction. Ignore the racist reviews by the liberals complaining about the Gadsen flag (no, it isn't racist) and whining about being asked for ID on checks. If you are needing great products, this is the place to come. If you are a whining insecure liberal wanting to virtue signal you should go elsewhere.
