Went here to get a new flute! Everyone was so kind and helpful I got a great deal and no hassle. The flute is great. The only way I can tell it is used is cosmetically. Besides that the flute plays amazingly. Totally recommend!

I went to Larsen on 7/16/2019 to buy a digital piano for my daughter. I'd rather spend my money locally, and this is a locally owned business. I went to the store at 9:40am, I was the only customer in the store. I walked around looking at their selection. There were 4 employees in the store. FOUR. Not one person greeted me, not one person made eye contact with me, not one person offered to help me. I lingered a few minutes longer, and then I said "Bye!" loudly and left. Check your surveillance tapes, it's all there. I was planning to spend ~$1000 there. I know that in the world of pianos that's not a lot, but this digital piano will eventually lead to a real piano purchase, with benches, tunings, etc. But you have lost my business and you have gained my negative review and negative word of mouth. I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 star because the selection looked decent and the prices seemed fair. Too bad I won't be spending my money with you.

We were in town for a show we booked and stopped in to look what they carried in a saxophone and browse the store for other ideas. We were greeted very friendly and the store was payed out beautifully. It's real easy to spend a lot of time here and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable as well very accommodating without suffocating you. The gentleman we talked too answered all our questions without rushing us nor blowing us off. First time in a long time where I walked into a music store, much less a retailer where the folks working there actually cared about you whether you were a new customer or not. You've got to come here and see for yourself to believe and we definitely will be back.

Well rounded music store. Sheet music for every taste. Pianos pianos pianos. They don't like people touching them. Given the state of things I kinda understand.

So far, so good. My son is learning to play the trumpet as part of his school music program, and Larsen has a lease-to-own program that lasts for 30 months. I went in today and learned that my monthly rental fee includes everything my son needs for his instrument while it is being leased, including basic repairs and maintenance expenses, plus replacement in the very unlucky case that it is stolen. Egad.I was glad to see that there are three tiers of rental instruments (based on previous use and superficial qualities of the instrument), but I wish there were an extended (thus cheaper monthly fee) rental period. I'm not entirely sure we'll still want this instrument after 30 months, ya know? And the expense isn't something I'd budgeted for.My son could have chosen from other arts programs, but he wants to trumpet. And good for him. And good for his school for having this program. And good for Larsen for renting quality, clean instruments. Incidentally, I'm looking for another tutoring student... Still, Larsen seems to be a nice place with honest, skillful music men (and women). (I may also have been impressed with the presentation of the gentlemen I encountered, too, who were clean cut and wore clothes that fit. Sometimes these things matter.) Lessons are available in store, and experts help fit students to the proper size instrument (God Bless, my daughter has chosen the cello. Thankfully, she's not yet required to have the instrument; her school provides it to her during the novice stage). The rental experience was quick and easy, and the place itself is full to the brim with beautiful, gleaming music makers.

I have been using this store for French horn repairs for years. Always helpful and reasonable cost. This week we went in to talk about professional French horns. They helped us trial several and we recorded playing them for the expert we know. They were very kind and friendly and had beautiful horns at fair prices.

After 3 (four miles trips back and forth) I am officially banned from Larsen's. Quite a shame. This is after suffering a wait and walk to acquire the left handed acoustic. No need for the details of how the original model I wanted wasn't available in lefty. But I was informed of my ban after the manager Chris told me there was a brand new lefty of the same model in the box I could have exchanged in its place. How convenient to have 2 Lefty's of the same exact model. Just so happens I was accused of returning for being a broke musician. Which solidified my permanent ban from the music store. It's discriminatory, disgraceful, and disrespectful. Damn, damning, damned if you ask me. Struggling musicians not welcomed!!!Aficionados, beware!!! You may be banned for returning a guitar Erin will play upside down for the first time to proclaim it stays in tune. Hey but if you need to spend 10's of thousands on a piano I'm sure they'll get it in your mansion.
