La Patrona may become my very favorite small-town Oklahoma Mexican restaurant. The Chile Relleno was fabulous. Two medium poblanos battered, deep fried and filled with very well-seasoned ground beef. This was not the traditional egg battering or soft fried coating. The rellenos had a crispy crunchy coating, covered with queso. Crunchy, crispy meat filled, deep fried rellenos are a rare find in the land of OkieMex. It was served on a blazing hot platter with equally delicious beans and rice. A phenomenal plate of TexMex. I will never try anything else from the menu. This is what I will come back to enjoy. This plate of food made an impression. My wife's plate of enchiladas was equally delicious. She gave it 6 stars out of five. The seasoned meat and beans made a great lunch. The start of the meal was an exceptionally delicious surprise. The salsas. The Green Salsa! A small warm bowl of green ecstasy. Fiery hot with fresh jalapeno, cilantro, diced onion, tomato, tomatillo and possibly some avocado. I have had nothing like it anywhere. Who ever came up with this recipe is a master of salsas. It does have bite. If you are sensitive to capsaicin, blend it down with the delicious red salsa. The flavor of the green salsa will still stand out. I would return for the salsa alone. La Patrona is in a historic looking old building on the main drag through town, Route 66. If you are touring the mother road here is your lunch stop. The service was average from a young man that seemed to speak very little English. The restaurant was clean and brightly decorated. The less than pristine restrooms, were a signature reminder that this is a small-town restaurant. Fantastic Food!If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

My family and I went to Bristow today and decided to try out La Patrona for lunch. I've never been there and thought it would be a nice gamble. It paid off! We were seated quickly and the waiter got our drink orders first thing. If you're a sweet tea connoisseur, they know how to make it correctly here. I got the "Bristow Special," which is grilled chicken on rice covered with cheese sauce and a couple of flour tortillas. The meal was flavorful and was just enough to fill me up and not over. The place was busy with the lunch crowd but yet was not loud. My family enjoyed their lunch and we had a great time. If you're ever in Bristow and get a chance, give this place a chance to earn your business, you just might like it.

Outstanding Mexican food in a small town, lots of hustle by staff. You will wait a bit but worth it! Very busy with lots of locals. Parking on street or lot on North. Pepsi products. Bathrooms are a bit dumpy.Inexpenisive.

The service is usually excellent. The food is great during peak hours. Their chips and salsa are the best in Bristow and really good even compared to other restaurants. The ambiance is pretty much meh. My only complaint is that it's pretty expensive, but the portions are also pretty big.

Lunch is better than Supper here. The food is always better in the afternoon. Supper time is more a miss. Very nice servers and service always. Place is clean and gets crowded which is not a problem. Just need a bigger place at times.
