La Michoacana Ng

Don't expect anything fancy. Don't expect to be wowed. Expect to pay very little money for plenty of food. If you like these expectations, you will like La Michoacana. Chips and salsa come with every order. The salsa is very plain. Doesn't have much like onions or cilantro. Not complaining because it's free. Not the best salsa out there. Let's get back to how inexpensive this place is. Tacos are only $1.95 each. On Tuesday, they are only $1.25 each, pretty insane. They are the small tacos though. I loved the one with fresh pineapple in it. Do yourself a favor and try that one. Don't overthink and question whether pineapple goes well with tacos. The answer is oddly YES. Also ask for hot sauces. None of them are really that hot to me. A bottle of Coca Cola, 5 tacos, and chips and salsa only cost a little under $15. They take cash only. Luckily I had a $20 bill left. Gave the cashier, said keep the change, and walked out feeling like a boss. A good full meal and feeling like a boss for $20, what else is left for me to say about this restaurant ?

Craving Mexican food and this one was on my list and not too far away. It is a little rough in every way but their food...holy how! Their food is absolutely delicious! I especially loved the Cubana Torta! To die for! Great salsa options with lots of flavor along with many other great things on their menu. I WILL be back and will possibly get the torta again or maybe a different style of torta...either way, it will most likely be a torta of some kind.

Been here at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks. Like many mom and pops, the outside looks a bit distressed and the interior could use a revamping, but it's clean and the staff is very nice even if there's a bit of a language barrier. The food is very well crafted and vibrantly seasoned. Pastor is prepared on a trompo with fresh pineapple added on top of the plate. There's nice selection of cakes, flan and other sweets available for desert. Decidedly made its way deep into my rotation. Well worth a 5 mile drive.

Nice little clean store front loaded with flavor. The service is excellent and you can't beat the food portions anywhere else when it comes to tacos. Monday through Thursday $1.25 tacos are wonderful. I always get the extra pineapple on top it is a game changer! Great ambiance.

They have four different kinds of sauces for the tacos all really good. Best tripa and lengua I've ever had in OKC. Al pastor is a little bit dry and small in portion, the Cameron and pescado just don't have enough meat for me to have a throughly taste of what's inside.

Best tacos and torta I have had in OKC!! This place is a must try!! Note that this place accepts cash only.

I tried the street tacos here, and while there were issues they were still pretty good. First these had too much cilantro and not enough diced onion. Asada meat was chopped fine, not grilled to my liking, didn't taste steaky. Al pastor was better but had a problem. They offer pineapple for it, but they add it diced fresh and not grilled into the meat like it should be. Fresh pineapple was too strong and gave it an odd conflicting flavor. I'll try next time with less pineapple or maybe they will grill it to caramelize properly if I ask nicely. I do like that al pastor is cooked traditionally on a "trompo" vertical rotisserie spit. I added an extra star for that and for at least offering pineapple which many in OKC don't do. They also serve a variety of burgers that I need to try. Last issue here is sign on door says tacos are 99 cents, but it's only their al pastor. And I'm pretty sure I was charged extra for pineapple without notice. Asada were $1.50 each up to $1.75 for lengua and other meats. Oh and it's cash only.

These are some of the best tacos I've had in OKC! Delicious and inexpensive. Bring cash!

This is a cash only place. Very inexpensive tacos that's worth raving about. For the tacos, it also comes with extras items like pickled carrot, jalapenos, radishes, etc. And there is also complimentary chips and salsa for the table. I got the carne asada and al pastor. They char the tortillas very well here, giving it a nice crisp texture. And you don't just get one tortilla, you get two per taco! The carne asada didn't have of chunks of steaks and it was thinly slice. You really don't need any sauces for it because the meat itself is well-seasoned. For the al pastor, it was equally delicious and flavorful. They leave the skins on the meat so there was some crunch as you bite into the taco. I also got agua de pina. It was refreshing, but wasn't great comparing to others that I've had. I was hoping that they have elote, but they don't have that here. Due to the language barriers, the service that we had was a bit frustrating at first. Our server is so sweet, but at times she was a bit slow. I was the last one to get my food since she forgot what I had ordered since there was one other person ordering almost the same thing as I did. So she went around to different tables with my plate. I had to get her attention and remind her what I've ordered. Other than that, for the price, value, and quantity of food that you get, I can't really be too picky on the service.

Service was excellent, food was hot and came out fast, restaurant was clean and ambiance was great. Our waiter was very nice and efficient. We are from out of state and Will definitely be traveling to come here again!! Worth the drive!
