La Buena Vista

After trying every well-rated Mexican restaurant in Altus, I can objectively say that La Buena Vista has the most authentic and delicious food.It was closed for a little bit, but has since re-opened. And we should all rejoice. La Buena Vista sports a menu that offers delicious treats such as Chicken Mole, Tortas, and traditional street Tacos. But, what makes them stand out from the competition is their signature homemade tortillas - a delicate balancing of flour and masa makes them both delicious and malleable, without cracking. If you haven't had a chance to swing by yet, do yourself a favor and make the trip!

I only gave it three stars because when you eat there, it feels like you're sitting on a spare table in an old convenience store. But the food is pretty good overall, especially for the price! I think I ordered a Chimichanga or something like that, but I remember it was pretty good... The nice bonus was a free Sopapilla and honey after the meal. Nice touch!!I'm here for four months, I'll certainly be back.

5 stars for the food and service. This is the best Mexican food I've ever had in Altus. The menudo is delicious, and I can't leave without getting the beef tongue gorditas. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere leaves a lot to bee desired, but I'd recommend stepping out of your comfort zone, if you are trying to find amazing authentic Mexican food.

Saying it's the best Mexican in Altus, doesn't give it justice. It's great food and great service!

Terrible food, taste like taco bell. Nothing great. Taco and tostada shells stale. Meat taste like taco bell or del taco. I will never go back. Even refried beans to creamy, trying to stretch 1 can to far , and rice mushy.

Absolutely authentic Mexican. No Texmex here. Extensive menu. They even fry their own chips. Homemade salsas, mild to HOT. Not a fancy place but family owned with a very friendly staff. The food came fresh and hot off the stove. We'll be back.

This is one of the best restaurants in town. What it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for in food and service! I've only been twice. However, each time the server was attentive and the kitchen turned the food out quickly. They serve breakfast all day (win). I've gotten the Spanish omelette twice. Both times it had a perfect filling to egg ratio. When we were leaving, the server was appreciative of our patronage. She stated that people don't like to travel to the outskirts of town/across the track where they are located and that the train sometimes holds people up. C'mon people? This place is definitely worthy the extra 30 seconds it takes to travel to and/or for the train to pass through.

Ate here for the first time today. All I can say is wow! I ordered the mole and hands down it was the most authentic and best Mexican food I have ever had(having never been to Mexico itself). We lived in New Mexico for a year and it was always sub par- more on the Tex mex side, so I never really experienced authenticity until now. I feel like that's saying something. If you find yourself in Altus, eat here.

This is authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. Family owned restaurant with great service. I ordered the Tacos de lengua. The meat was nice and tender and the tortillas were home made. I definitely be returning for the food, service and to try their Horchata.

Service was excellent! The chips were the best I have ever had anywhere - fresh, crispy, light, and hot from the fryer. I had the pork tamales and hubby had the carne asada - both were very good. Menu had a diverse And expansive selection. Prices were very reasonable. I will definitely return the next time I am in town. Great authentic Mexican cuisine.
