Pros: location, very secluded, we had a white tail deer that hung out with us the whole time, tons of privacy, clean shower and toilet, clean kitchen area and full size fridge, large patio, air conditioning and heater worked well. Cons: DIRTY CARPET (carpets and rentals don't mix), only one burner worked on the stove top and it took forever to warm up ( would not boil water), no oven, the front door was really hard to open, no outdoor lighting or outdoor plugs, very small grill, the fireplace was permanently sealed off with a piece of plywood, no fire pit, refrigerator kind of acted up some of the fruits and vegetables for freezing, dirty curtains around the beds, the cooking utensils were not what i expected... we had to go buy a larger skillet and silverware no coffee pot but a very old microwave that we did not use, make sure you bring TP!Think of this as if you are camping in a camper or tent... bring everything you would need just keep in mind the plus side of having indoor plumbing and an air conditioner with a heater! Things we were thankful that we brought: Grill lights, Solar string lights, radio, extension cord, knife, cutting board, toilet paper, paper towels , cleaning supplies, trash bags and towels, sheets, pillows and blankets. We had a great time and plan on coming back! Literally a Mile away from Turner falls. We just felt like the cabin had a lot of potential that was being neglected. Little things could make it so much nicer.

This place was terrible. If you look at the pictures on the website and think that is what you are going to get, you are in for quite the surprise.First off, the place is not secluded whatsoever, it is about a minute off the highway. This is not the place you go to to escape into the wilderness. *There is a crappy motel right next to it, and staying there would probably have been the same.* (This is half our fault for not fully researching it and looking at it on the map, but Kiser's website does a good job of selling it).Secondly, the floors were dirty and stained, so was the furniture. The place was actually clean otherwise when we walked in aside from the occasional dead bugs in the plates they provide. Outside is infested with grasshoppers, so get used to them. Stove is old and small (as expected), and the charcoal grill outside is tiny (can probably fit about 4 burgers at a time). The best thing about the trip was the trip to Turner Falls, but that was about a 15 minute drive or so. Kiser himself was pretty rude and it was also impossible to get a hold of him. You have to call like 15 times before his phone actually receives your call. Then he makes you drive 20 minutes into town off the highway to pickup the key... when the cabin is about 1 minute off the highway.. a waste of time and unprofessional in my opinion. Can't really say much else, just please don't come here.**------Edit on 11/25/13-------Editing because I had originally stated the motel next door was crappy. Donna R. is correct in pointing out that I did not actually stay there so I misspoke and was just judging it based on the outside. -----------------------------------

I agree with Donna just saying the Arbuckle next to the kisser cabins is a wonderful place Judy is such a sweet lady. It's is a older building but the rooms feel like home! The outside isn't the prettiest but it's an old military base.

Do NOT stay here. We stayed in Cabin K5 only to find out there were BED BUGS in the cabin. A problem that had been reported to him previously but did not take care of. And continued to rent out the cabin. Mr. Kiser is extremely hard to get a hold of and told us that these were not bed bugs but chiggers, I am 100% sure they were bed bugs. The cabin itself lacked a certain level of cleanliness, the fan upstairs did not work, making it very hot when the air conditioning had not kicked on yet. Aside from the convenient location in proximity to Turner Falls Park, there isn't much to say that is positive.

We rented two cabins (5 & 6) for a family of 20. Mr. Kiser set the window unit A/C's on a certain temp and told us not to touch it because it will freeze up. Each cabin has two window units (one down stairs and one upstairs) with two old ceiling fans on top floor. Cabin 5's A/C were working excellent (very cold) but Cabin 6's A/C's were not working, they were blowing out hot air. We called Mr. Kiser twice and he didn't answer. The Wi-Fi did not work either. The cabins were clean and the beds were comfortable. But in the summer with 100 plus degree temps and no A/C working makes your stay awful. The coffee maker as so dirty and the handles on the fridge looked like they had not been cleaned in some time. There was another camper there in another cabin, we thought it was Mr. Kiser but it wasn't. We asked her to call him for us an guess what.... He picked up when she called. This is the only way we got to talk to him about the A/C's for Cabin 6. He didn't want to hear our concerns nor come out to look at the A/C's. We lost respect for him after this call. We will not be going back.

Do your homework and read the other negative reviews. I agree and had a similar experience. We found the place unfit to stay. Also, shortly after arriving, our little girl laid down on the Kiser cabin bed to rest, for no more that 15-minutes. Shortly after she got up, we noticed insect bite marks on both her arms and legs. We left immediately. Note about Kiser cabin's rental agreement. It states that there will be "NO CANCELATIONS" and "NO REFUNDs." The cabin's owner will leverage this language first thing if there is a dispute. We found nice, comfortable lodging in a town near buy and then drove to the park.

At first I almost cancelled my trip bc all of the bad reviews mr Sam the owner reassured me that those reviews were just ppl mad bc of whatever. I'm glad I listened to him. Our family had a wonderful time together. The place is very rustic n had everything we needed. It was nice n cold when we walked in n no dead bugs anywhere. So don't be scared to come stay here bc of the reviews lk I was. Just follow the rules n you'll be fine. And most importantly he DOESNT HAVE BED BUGS!!!!! And a plus plus he's 100$ or more cheaper than everyone else. Thank you Mr Sam Kiser for having such a great and cheap for families to stay

My husband and I took a trip to Turner Falls this past weekend to celebrate our first anniversary. We stayed in K1, which was located inside of the park, overlooked the water below, and featured some truly beautiful views. The cabin was clean, and the air conditioner worked great. It was a hot weekend, and it was so nice to come back to a cool place after a day in the sun. We had a wrap around porch that offered many beautiful views of the park and mountain ranges. Mr. Kiser was absolutely wonderful, and provided excellent customer service. We will definitely be making another trip to Turner Falls in the near future, and hope to stay in K1 again.

Kiser Cabins? More like Kiser Shacks. This is a good place to stay if don't have high expectations of comfort and cleanliness. We went for a family reunion and stayed in cabins 4 and 6, cabin 4 advertises a whirlpool tub- this means that it has an old whirlpool (I would not take a bath in it), and no shower! I would say this is a step and a half above camping (it is under a roof, there is running water with a working water heater, electricity, uncomfortable beds, and a fridge), if you stay here you need to ensure you bring everything with you, this includes your own trash, sheets, towels, soap, and don't forget a can of Lysol! The location is directly off a highway, and minutes away from Turner Falls. I would consider this more of a party cabin that can sleep many people because after many drinks you won't care about the lack of cleanliness and it would be hard to trash the place more than it already is.I would not recommend this place for people with small children or that like to touch everything.
