John & Cook's Real Pit Bbq

I have never been here physically!!! But today I saw whom I presume to be the owner John, recognized military personnel and one in particular- ZM! Love it!! Love it!! Love local restaurants. We always try to visit one when we get a chance. We came for lunch. The place is small and NO FRILLS. I think they know their food is good. I'm glad we came here. I am not a big fan of BBQ. but the BBQ her is very good. I was a bit hesitant but I ended up LOVING THEIR FOOD. It tasted like home cook meal. I had a brisket and it did not disappoint. The staff were very nice, friendly, professional, and seems like happy to help. I highly recommend if you're in Lawton/Fort Sill.

Gone are the days when my momma could carry on an entire tailgating haul of John & Cook's BBQ when flying to Baltimore, so I just have to get it when I come "home." While on a recent visit, we indulged in baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, ribs and brisket. We typically only get ribs, but this time we went for it. My momma found the brisket "a bit fatty," but I loved it. It was soft and tender, cooked all the way through, had crispy coated edges...yummers! The ribs were tasty as always and the sides were fantastic. I just wished there had been more. Of everything.

Food is top notch, same for atmosphere & service. What I witnessed though was touching. At least 3 elderly and/or mobility impaired patrons stopped by to pick up an order and restaurant staff kindly helped the customers to their vehicle & carried the food order. I've never before seen such kindness in a restaurant!!

Hey Gang! We went here on a friends word. This was Lawtons' best BBQ! Well, not so much. This fits most home town mom and pop BBQ spots. Small, family friendly, with nostalgic ambiance everywhere.. and they were busy to boot! Very nice group of guys working there. We order meats only because that's where people rate and score good BBQ. We ordered hot links, sausages, and tips. Tips are rib tips with some bones and lots of cartlidge. Now I feel like this meat was cooked many days ago and microwaved to warm it up, which drys it out. The hotlinks were a 2 out of 5, and the tips were a 1 out of 5. Hot sauce was tart and real vinegary. But it gave me some flavor for the flavorless hot links. Now, to top off the experience (see pic), was this worth $22?? That's a hard no! Come on, Lawton!! You have to have a better BBQ to offer. If you want to have an experience!! Smokin Joe's Davis oklahoma. Still setting the standard!

Food was great. The owner is beautiful soul, friendly and obviously a wonderful cook. Portions are huge. Expect to unbutton your pants because you will leave stuffed

This has been a sentimental place driving through Lawton for work the past four decades. I usually get the sliced beef and original sauce with baked beans and potato salad. The beef is very tender but just a little smoke flavor more like a good roast. I love their sides but they are very sweet.Recently was able to stop by here on a weekend for the first time and have their smoked chicken dinner special and that is by far the best in my opinion

We are from Los Angeles Ca and we're looking for good BBQ. The BBQ was good and the Ribs were amazing. If we are ever back in the area would definitely put this on our list of todos.

We came here for lunch on our son's Family Day at Fort Sill. Boy did we make the right decision. First, the food was absolutely delicious and worth it. Second, the 4th generation owner Lonzo, made our meal particularly special and memorable by honoring our son with some wonderful words of gratitude for his service.
