Jim's Diner

Two stars instead of one because the waitress was very sweet. Food was not quite mediocre. Barely lukewarm. And very overpriced. I question if the health department has this place on its radar. We're sorry we stopped.

I have been coming here since the early 90s. There were times it wasn't the most sanitary. Stopped by in January 2024 and they have really cleaned the place up. Service was with a smile and couldn't have been any better. I didn't take pics but the food was spot on!!! I ordered the Route 66 scramble and had zero complaints. My wife loved her scramble with pancakes... don't sleep on this place. The wait for the popular spots in town is 2 hours. Come sit and enjoy a seat quick here!

Food was alright. The menu made it sound better than it actually was. The service was lacking. I was promised a refill on coffee 3 times before it happened. Only one coffee pot for the whole place and she said the other waitress emptied it and she had to wait for machine make more. Waitress herself was friendly and busy. Hostess that took is to our table must have been taking a break later and she was sitting at bar counter, back leaning against bar, legs over the back rest. Awkward and unprofessional. We were heading to a different restaurant and drove by here. Decided why not. Noticed the yelp review was 2.5 stars. It ain't wrong.

Meh at best....If your hungry, yeh it's food.Nothing to drive out of your way for it. Even tables around us were talking about it's blahh quality.2 people = 34.00 I wish I would have spent elsewhere. Hard pass to you folks reading...

We were quite hungry while doing a road trip and saw this place. I had the chili and Cobb salad. The portions are big but the food lacks flavor. The chili was very bland. And the grilled chicken on the Cobb salad was also bland. Service was nice.

While the food good, the wait is an hour sometimes more for food. This was our second visit. Las time time, we waited for almost an hour and a half for omelettes and pancakes. I vowed never to come back, but today I decided to give it a second shot. Again, a side of hash browns and two sampler plates (a slab of ham with hash browns and scrambled eggs and pancakes) took an hour. And the pancakes that came with the sampler didn't come out with the order. That came out fifteen minutes later. There has to be a better way of communicating to the cook so at the very least an order arrives complete.This place is really dirty too. Dead flies are on the window sills with grunge that looks like it's been there for years. A broken pane of glass secured by duct tape has been there for I don't know how long... If the front of the house biz looks like this it really makes me wonder how grimy the kitchen is. Our waitress was very sweet. Sadly, I think she's overworked. This could be a pandemic case of getting short-staffed bc businesses can't hire the staff they need. Which is sad ... our waitress looked like she cared. I think we got the only one who did. I happened to ask another waitress (when I couldn't find ours) for ketchup for my hash browns, and she nodded but never returned with it. My husband finally got up and searched other tables for a bottle, bringing it to me.The food is good. Our waitress seemed to care but was way stressed. The wait is pitiful. Save yourself a trip and go to IHOP.

Nothing we ordered was right. For example, my sister in-law ordered the spinach salad with strawberries and crispy chicken, but instead she got an iceberg salad with tomatoes and grilled chicken. On top of that, there had to have been a half cup of water at the bottom of the salad bowl. Waiter was nice, everything else was awful and not worth the price.

Took forever to be seated, since the hostess had to clean up a table even though there was plenty of clean tables. When the drinks were brought, no silverware, so you couldn't stir the sugar that you had added to your coffee. Food came out warm, but quickly cooled off since the plates weren't ceramic. The biscuits were dry and hard, the home fries were under cooked, the eggs were over medium, but had been cooked on a grill that was too hot, and the coffee was VERY WEAK.Staff was very friendly..

I had not been to Jim's in over 30 years...so it had changed a bit. I also went during Covid-19 in September 2020. Here is what I can tell you...it's an old diner, it feels old, it looks old and well its been there since 1978. The food was actually really good, but the service was very, very slow as each waitress seemed to have a very large section even if there weren't a lot of customers. At one point I did see the manager come out and start rolling place settings, which we didn't get until after we go our food. The coffee refills were super slow and we waited a long time for our food. I am not sure if that is a normal Sunday morning, but I probably don't need to go back anytime soon for a "fast meal" at the diner.

Casual diner fare. Menu doesn't change much. Good selection of pies for dessert. Food is a bit bland - guessing the main age group prefers it to be no too spicy.
