I would not recommend this golf course to anyone, especially on a busy Saturday morning. A group of friends and I decided to get together to try the course out before, a few of us had played before and some of us had not. We waited for 15 minutes at the start as there was lots of congestion due to it being busy. When it was finally our groups turn to go, each for of us took a turn and while we took our turns a group of men behind us yelled insults/complaints at us (I.e. telling us to get off the course, ask for our money back, hurry up) which was extremely distracting and made it hard for all of us to golf. I eventually told the man that we also had to wait and he needed to not criticize us as he could see some of us were new to the game. Once all 4 of us finished, we continued along. This group of men (8 men) left and apparently asked for a rain check because we were "holding up the course" when in reality the course was extremely busy and everyone had to wait at the start. The general manager came to us and yelled at us because we "caused" these men to leave. I felt the general manager, Ty, was extremely rude and disrespectful. I also feel as if we were being discriminated against because we were the only women on the course at the time. I'd recommend this course not be supported as it is not an inclusive space for all levels and some of the regulars seem to be very belligerent.

Great course for beginners and practice. If you want to get 9 holes in before work I truly recommend James Stewart!!

Very pretty little nine-hole course. It's right near downtown, which makes it very easy to pop over after work and squeeze in a round before sunset, and you can't beat the price. I normally walk, but they have carts for rental, a driving range, short game range, and a putting green. The course is always in pretty good shape, and the greens are often spectacular. The course isn't terribly challenging, although there are a few holes around the pond that can be tricky. I would say all skill-levels will enjoy themselves out here.Side note: this place would have gotten four stars for sure, but me and my buddy got locked in here on accident one night when we were out on the course just past sunset. We managed to hop the fence with our clubs, but I've docked them a star for not checking the course before locking up!

Fairly fast pace of play. The greens are a little rough, but you can't beat the price.

Nine-hole golf courses vary greatly in quality. Some test your game, while others are merely pitch and putt. Located just east of downtown, James E Stewart Golf Course is the former. Players of all levels will enjoy this course. There is one hole that is good enough to be a part of any course in Oklahoma. Number eight is a par-5 measuring 540 yards. All down the right side of the hole is a lake. The left side is protected by four large Maple trees and some cedar trees. After a good drive, a shot of 180 to 200 yards is needed to lay up because the lake veers in front, to the left, and finally behind the green. Tall native grass and stone adorn the lake near the green. It's a good test, which I failed btw , making a triple bogey. This layout is a fun challenge and the course was in good shape the day I played. Next time I want to play just nine-holes, I will be back.

Probably the worst course ive played, the green speeds might actually be in the negative with how slow they are!!! The course is also severely backed up, and the average golfer at this course have 0 golf etiquette!!! would not recommend!!!

Staff was not friendly. Two first time golfers trying to learn the rules. First visit we were told to allow the "long hitters" to play through, okay, no big deal. Turned out to be a five man scramble with three teams. Took forever for us to get through hole two after letting them all through. Second visit we were yelled at for only having one bag of clubs for two golfers. Explained we're new to the sport, offered no assistance just told us we couldn't golf. Did refund us. Staff could definitely be more friendly, especially for those trying a new hobby.
