Ron is an excellent luthier and makes custom guitars that are excellent. He also does repairs, sales of parts and used guitars and gear. Highly recommended.

Ron is a relic, and I mean that as an absolute compliment. He does outstanding repair work, reasonable rates. Also stands behind his work. Will be a sad day when he closes shop, but he certainly deserves to enjoy himself after such a long standing contribution to the guitar community. Thank You Ron, and bless you.

Ron got my 1951 Gibson L7C back into good shape and it looks and plays great. It took awhile to get all the parts but was well worth the time. His prices are not out of line at all and he took the time to explain all of the work required. I will definitely use him any time I need quality repair work.

We love Honest Ron, the kooky old hippie luthier from California! This is where we go to get all of our stuff! Find new gear or get your guitar repaired in a shop full of dogs, vintage instruments, and one-of-a-kind creations from the man himself! He's got odd hours, call first!

Took my HD28 martin to Ron for fret replacements and a new saddle. The work that was done was good except I did not fully inspect the guitarBefore leaving the store. Several weeks later I noticed there was some slightDamaged on the back of the neck. I cannot prove this happened while in his careBut a word to the wise, fully inspect your instrument before leaving any placeThat works on your gear.

Ron has worked on many of my guitars and the work has always been impeccable. Pricing is comparable or less to other shops and the end result is always better.

Ron seems like a nice enough guy but I had several problems with his work. I had binding re-glued on a Martin D-35, and he obviously did not bother scraping out the old glue properly before starting, so now the "repaired" binding sticks out terribly. He also reset the bridge without asking me if I wanted it done, and ripped out a fair amount of the spruce fibers surrounding the bridge in the process. In short, his repairs were done carelessly and improperly and left some damage to my instrument. This is my most valuable possession and he actually decreased its value. Interesting to note as well that his shop is not humidified, which for a professional shop in OK in the winter seems pretty careless. Maybe I'm spoiled but my old guy back in my hometown did impeccable work and would never dream of doing anything that would even come close to harming any instrument I brought him, and yes his home repair shop was humidified. I don't know why everyone loves Ron so much, maybe there's just a gap in the repair market around here.
