This little cafe has some very tasty food. The server brought our food quickly and it was very hot. The portions we're large and the price was good too. I didn't stay long enough to check the bathrooms for cleanliness, but I had an overall positive experience. I'll be back again.

As this is a nostalgic place for me I want to give so much more. That said, it is not the heartwarming stop I enjoyed as a child on our regular drives from OKC to Woodward. The place is small and service speed totally depends on how busy they are, of course. Unfortunately we came in after a big table and had a long wait. That is not to big a deal though. The biggest issue is we had multiple roaches crawl across our table while waiting on our meals. We decided to move to a table away from the wall to help. We were so hungry we stayed and ate anyway. I had a reasonably priced ribeye that tasted just like at home. The food was home style cooking and the server was so friendly I hate I can't rate it higher. Cleanliness is so key when I am eating.

Stopped in for breakfast with our Venturing Crew after a very cold campout at Roman Nose.Nice, locals-eat-there, mom-n-pop, type place.Always prefer to spend my $$$ locally than in a chain restaurant so we gave it a try. Food was good, plentiful and hardy. No issues as noted in other reviews. If you are looking for quick cookie cuter type chain food, go elsewhere. Each breakfast was hand cooked to order, as ordered. Coffee was good and strong. None of that foofoo stuff here. This is real food for real folks. We'll be back next time we come out!!

Headed back to OKC from a week in Colorado and stopped in for breakfast. Very good food, restaurant was packed on a Saturday morning- my plate was hot and very tasty! I'll be back, very laid back atmosphere- obviously a local favorite! Wait was a little long - but for one waitress all OK.

I know this place has a lot of regulars, mostly men eating, drinking their coffee and talking. It hasn't ever been my "go to" place to eat, but I've come in on lots of occasions over the years. There's been a lot of rumors about this place. Some have seen cockroaches and some have said they cook cat meat, because of all the cats they had running around from the back of the restaurant. Personally, I've never seen a cockroach inside and it looks as though they took care of the cat problem. Hi De Ho has been in Watonga ever since I can remember. It looks like a small diner that shows it's years. The food is pretty good and the waitress might be depending on who they hire. The last time I was in there with my mother and brother a few months ago, the waitress had on a holy and ripped shirt wearing her pants down low and tight. You could see the crack of her butt showing everytime she left our table. Yes, they can wear whatever they choose to. Like I said, it's not my go to place, but Watonga doesn't offer too much in choices of eating places.

After spending the day at Roman Nose State Park, we were searching for a place to have an early dinner and rest a bit. The offerings in Watonga were not very plentiful. We happened to pass this place on the way to another place we found on yelp that has since closed down. So we turned around and decided to give the Hi De Ho Cafe a try.As soon as we walked in, we were hit by the eclectic small town charm of the place. Seating is a hodge podge of diner booths, restaurant booths, and a large dining room table. The staff was very patient and very helpful in explaining how things worked there. We settled on the homemade chicken fried steak (they also offer a frozen version for weird people who prefer that) and an open faced chili cheese burger. All food is cooked to order, but we did not feel like the wait was very long at all. The food was cooked to perfection, and was very delicious. If you find yourself looking for a place to grab a bite in Watonga, check out the Hi De Ho. You won't regret it.FYI tip, they serve breakfast all day here.
