Clearly their budget has increased; they hired someone to manage their Yelp page...and they spared no expense! In all my years of writing reviews, I have never received such a hilariously thoughtful comment from a biz owner. While I highly doubt I will ever find myself back in OK, let alone in this particular part of OK, I am happy to shower the folks at Gene Autry with more stars, because A for effort! It sounds as if the museum has made a lot of improvements in the last 4 years, not to mention, added a punch of personality to an otherwise drab subject matter! Still no singing cowboy, though :(

Had a lovely time here. The lady director opened a few minutes early when she saw us waiting. She gave us a personalixed tour lasting about two hours. Her knowledge of the genre was bottomless. We plan to return with the grandkids if we can.

I love the town and the museum! I love getting out and exploring on my motorcycle and this is as good as it gets in my opinion. The country side alone is worth the trip for a biker to appreciate. The real treat is the museum for all of you who like me, love westerns and appreciate our western heritage. Gene Autry was and is a hero of mine since I was a kid. This museum contains a vast collection of memorabilia of the singing cowboy era but also more from other westerns and history as well. I highly recommend taking a day and enjoy the trip, the museum and the town for what they are for our wide open spaces are quickly disappearing along with our American values it seems. I guess there are some people who just can't appreciate that. So sad for them. I travel from north Texas and I always enjoy the experience. Get out and ride friends!

Extensive collection of memorabilia in a wonderful old WPA school. How great for the town of Gene Autry. Leslie, the director, had lots of good information and was extremely cordial.Fun visit.
