After having a membership with this gym for over a year I cancelled my membership.. or so I thought. It turns out that their front desk had actually made 2-3 different accounts for me because they continuously spelt my name wrong. So they ended up sending me to collections. I had to go into the gym and argue with them until they dropped it because they refused to actually listen to what I was saying over the phone. Also as I continued going I noticed A LOT of things wrong. Wiring hangout out of the ceiling? Crusty walls... Kept finding more broken machines as time went on then I realized the machinery was super outdated. Not to mention how crowded and small it is in there plus I just felt like guys were constantly sizing up.

I've been trying to cancel my membership with four star fitness since the 5th of November. I sent in a cancellation form and was told it would be addressed within a month. After a month goes by I call to make sure my membership is cancelled which they informed me it's not. I talked to employees and a manager, Brett who claimed they "emailed the owner and would get back to me", they never did. Owner claims they never received my cancellation form because I didn't send it by certified mail. I asked if I could get a corporate Email or number which they blatantly told me "no". No explanation or reason. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to cancel my membership from a local gym.

This is a great place if you like working out in dirty and unsafe conditions. The owner is too cheap to have airconditioning during early morning or late nights (I've been there when it is 80 degrees - imagine a nice smelly moist gym.) The water filter for the water is ALWAYS on red. I mean... it goes from green, then yellow... then red forever. Even when you ask the desk to have it changed... but nope... it has to be a few weeks before the staff changes it. Good to save those nickels. It's dank and gross. Nothing is clean - it's usually got drops of dried sweat from the last couple of days. The sanitizer wipes are usually out as well.

I've been working out at this gym consistently for over a year now. The staff has been very knowledgeable and they have a group of very professional trainers that get great results for both weight loss transformations and show prep athletes. One thing that really stands out to me is how well kept the gym is. If something is broken, they expedite repair. Also, it's alway clean!!

So far so good...I just signed up for membership. Don't forget to ask about their membership specials. The gym is clean and has new equipment. There are folks working out in the early morning but it is not crowded to where you can't get your routine in or have to wait for someone to finish a set. Membership includes a key fob that you can use to enter the gym during off hours. I like the convenience of doing your own thing and not having to wait for the gym to open up.There are two showers in the men's restroom. Be prepared to bring your own shampoo, body wash, bath towels, hand towels, etc. The membership is affordable so they really don't provide all the amenities you would find in a full service gym. You can leave your stuff in one of the many lockers they have right outside the restrooms. Bring your own lock to secure your personal belongings. There are plenty of parking spots right outside the gym, along 8th street, and across the street.

Drinks: N/AService: 5/5Cleanliness: 5/5Decor & Style: 5/5This gym is very small, but it has all the basic machines I need (except no lower extremity external rotator machine, well no one has that) therefore very useful. The best part is that my low cost membership gives me access to the downtown location and the NW OKC location which makes it very convenient for me as I typically travel NW OKC from/to Norman all the time. This location is much cleaner and less crowded (during off peak times) than the May location. 5 stars for Four star! lol

Based off the name alone they have already put themselves on a 4 star playing field so maybe on a 5 star scale they would have earned a 3 star review but most likely not... this place is small, crowded, and has numerous pieces of broken equipment. There are only 2 barbell/squat racks which is a real disappointment and the layout impedes the ability the be able to have any room to work out off equipment. There is an upstairs workout room that is quite nice and spacious and includes mats, dumbbells, and a TV with classes on demand which you can enjoy if you can get past the fact that it smells like a high school boys locker room that hasn't been cleaned in over a year. The water fountain has water, no water bottle refill sensor but thats pretty picky so that's okay. It'd take a 24 hour fitness over this place but it's works if you want to spend the money and want a place close to down town

Four Star is by far the best gym in the OKC area. Great equipment, 24hrs, free tanning, multiple locations, great staff, great trainers, clean restrooms/dressing rooms. Highly recommend to any beginner, advanced lifter or athlete of any genre.
