Walking into Folk.Life feels like stepping into the most breathtaking museum of cross-cultural artistry you could ever imagine. This store is an absolute treasure trove, brimming with crafts, artwork, and stunning creations from around the world. There's a particular focus on indigenous art, especially from Mexico and Central America, and the care and respect for these cultures is evident in every detail. The staff? Phenomenal. Welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do--they know their stuff and are eager to share it with you. Folk.Life isn't just a store; it's an experience. Go in with an open mind and open eyes, ready to be amazed. Leave any preconceived notions or negativity at the door--this space isn't for hate or ignorance. For the rest of us who celebrate diversity and artistry, you'll find every moment here unforgettable. A huge shoutout to the staff and the owner for creating something so special. Folk.Life is a true gem, and Oklahoma City is lucky to have it.

This shop looks just like many souvenir shops you go to in beachy, tourist areas of Mexico. Lots of Mexican metal. Lots of imported stuff. Very expensive. The cashier said hello, but he was working in the back, so I didn't see him except after I first walked in. This is an extremely niche collection, so I hope it's able to sustain being open.

An artful and colorful array of gift items here. I recall my mom bringing me back this crate of worry dolls when I was a kid from her Guatemala trip. Interesting to take gander for a while here. So many decorative items to pick from in here.

Very interesting and eclectic store selling a bunch of trinkets, collectibles, clothing, rare items and an assortment of other things. Cool place to visit also in OKC's Plaza District too. Check it out!

Folk Life is the absolute best small shop for all traditional items for Hispanic/Mexican American items. I had no idea this shop existed until I was walking around with a friend and came across it. Every time I've gone since, I've been greeted with the absolute best workers there! Not only are they beyond kind of genuine, but so patient in helping with purchases and making sure each item bought it wrapped up as safely as can be. We purchased two large planter pots for my mother for Christmas and she was absolutely floored with how beautiful they were. I will most definitely be back many many more times!

This place is always a great choice. I've bought many gifts for people here and the items are intensely unique. They have clothes and other items from over 20 countries around the world. Staff are always friendly. Parking is super easy when the plaza isn't busy can be a challenge when it's party time in the area

We've shopped here twice and I love the eccentric things that can be found here. Everything from Talavera pottery (at reasonable prices) to interesting jewelry to tiles. Great little store in the Plaza district.

This is a locally owned - as if there is anything not locally owned on the plaza-with a decent to great selection of Latin/Caribbean folk art.Parking is street only but for the rare times that street parking in that block is not available there is a small lot in back of the building. Also on the side streets in any direction. This is a small to medium sized store and the back wall is dominated by a Haitian symptoms mural for a back country pharmacy. Parts if it are mildly graphic.Otherwise the stock is interesting if not exciting. This is the best one of the best places around for dias de los muertos decorations. There is a adequate selection of clothing, more Frida Kahlo then you can handle, and an excellent mask collection for either decoration or mardi gras/carnival/hallowmas/whatever you need an otherworldly artistic mask for. Lots of other fun stuff as well. Pricing is whatever you want it to be. Smaller worry dolls and whatnot go for ten bucks or less and that wall sized mural in the back will be 2500 or so. Shirts/tunics/pants/skirts range from 20-45 ish dollars and in general you can find something nice for your house here in the 20-50 dollar range.Good pricing with interesting decor make this worth a look see.
