This is an awesome park! been living near it for the past 8 or so months and every once in a while I will go walking on the track there. Did you know that if coming towards the park from NW 36th, between about Meridian and MacArthur the checkered water tower sticks out like a giant mushroom? Pretty neat to think about! Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to visit!

This is a great little park in Bethany. For the most part it's a pretty quite park. There are many people who come out to walk/run the 1.5 mile sidewalk trail around the park. The walk around the park is nice and flat and there are even distance markers so you know how far you've gone. There are several ares with many picnic tables. There are two playground areas for kids and several wide open fields. These fields would be great for getting together with friends and playing ultimate, kickball, or soccer if they were not full of stickers that will cover your socks and shoes if you walk through them. Overall, if you need a good afternoon walk or a shaded playground for the kids, I would recommend this park.

This is a beautiful 60-acre park in Bethany, with miles of walking trails, plus basketball courts, soccer fields, picnic tables and shelters and more. I love the openness of this park. Sometimes trees are nice, but I like that this park has many open expanses for kids to run and play in a very safe space. Softball, basketball and soccer areas are here also - though I don't know much about reserving them or anything. There are a few different playground areas, and admittedly, these could use some updating, but I think there are lots of places with splash pads and new playground equipment - what Eldon Lyon provides is room, and lots of it. In a time when parents feel they can't just let their kids roam free in the neighborhoods and the creek beds of our youth, this park helps address that need. I love the two mile trail that loops around and sometimes through the entire park, the nice picnic areas, and people watching.

I was out of pocket for a week or so and as i go for a walk I was surprised by the lack of parking on the east side. While I was a way they have installed a disk golf course and created a dangerous situation for the lifetime walkers that frequent the park daily and less today due the disk golf. I don't understand why the park system would do this. There is a large disk course at Dolese park several miles away. The few people that was there today was not happy about the change and when someone gets hit in the eye I am sure the city will be sewed and the bathroom situation will have to be fixed due to the large # of people in the park today. needless to say the animals and bird's in the park will go away plus the Catholic cemetery will be getting a lot of golfers walking on the graves. but all and all I am not happy with the change and don't believe that Disk Golf was not thought out and it is a sad day for are park.
