This is my favorite Mexican place in town. They have a non battered Chile Riano that is to die for. Love their white queso and salsa. And they have my fiancé's favorite fajitas!

My husband and I had Carne Asada with rice and beans. It was a thin T-bone steak, which isn't typical for Carne Asada, but it was delicious. We each added grilled onions. It was great. Restrooms were clean and the staff was polite and friendly. Salsa was good. Flour tortillas and chips were average. The queso is my only issue with this place. There are two options, white or yellow. We opted for yellow because it's not spicy and I didn't want to get something too spicy for my kiddo. It tasted like off brand cheese sauce from a jar or can. It was pretty terrible, but got a little better as we added salt, pepper, and salsa. My son had the kids cheese quesadilla and we added chicken. He said it was delicious and he tore it up pretty quickly. We'd definitely visit again.

We had eaten there before and the food was ok. Today we stopped to grab a bite to eat. We ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was very dry. Tasted and looked like the frozen chicken you get from Wal-Mart made for fajitas. There was 1 tiny slice of onion, 2 slices of pepper. The rice was bland, the tortillas were so dry they tasted like they had been sitting out for a week. For $12 per person, you should get more than a few strips of dry flavorless chicken. I asked for sour cream and they brought a bowl with 1 tablespoon full for 2 people. I told our waitress. I also told her we won't be back. If you want excellent Mexican food go down the street to Riviera Mya.

NOW OPEN IN NEW DIGS!the Same level of service and food quality that has made this a local favorite, has been retained; now it has been transferred into a beautiful new building. Not a LOT of Mexican kitsch adorns the bright yellow walls, nor ceiling. There is a sufficient waitstaff to handle the crowds. The food, is quite easily compared to their old location...it is the same high quality, and speed. The menu is more colorful, and glossy, but a bit more difficult to read. Prices have not sky-rocketed with the new location.Fast and friendly waitstaff, clean restrooms, on the loud side, but nothing a nicely placed Mexican blanket or two couldn't take care of.

I rarely write a review of a Mexican restaurant because I have exacting standards, being that I grew up on the border and am accustom to authentic Mexican food and not simply "Tex-Mex."This is the real deal and if you are anywhere in the area and heading down I-35 and have a craving for a delicious Mexican meal, pull off in Pauls Valley and be prepared for a treat at El Pueblo. I had the Chile Relleno, enchilada, taco combination. The Relleno had a nice mild Chile flavor with a crispy coating that was not oily, the taco is worth noting because it was not some prefab shell bought off the shelf, this is fried there, and the meat was not greasy and oily. The only thing dripping out of my taco was the flavorful homemade salsa that I couldn't get enough of. And the enchilada was simply wow! One of the few restaurants that got it right. The sauce on the enchilada is the key, this not your "Tex-Mex" chili beef gravy. This is authentic enchilada sauce. This family-run eatery knows what they are doing and it comes through with every delicious bite you take. If you drive by, you missed out on a delicious meal.

A real treat in Pauls Valley. Staff were very friendly, menu was varied and well laid out. The chips were fresh and the salsa was just hit enough. Food was brought out quickly, hot and delicious. I enjoyed every bite Come and enjoy

Down right good food. The portions are not huge but adequate & the food is good so you'll feel satisfied. Ask for the green sauce. No extra charge. This is one of the main reasons I go to this restaurant. They have the best green sauce. Great bright delicious flavor. Eat it with chips or on your tacos. They have stepped up the wait staff So it is a really good dining experience now. They are great about accommodating groups also. Enjoy
