El Jalapeno

Came for a burger this time!! Try the burgers!! They will blow BoomARang and Beacon out of the water! They are known for their burgers too. So give them a try!!

They have this place decorated so nice for Christmas! The staff was insanely nice and talked through all the options with me and were great. I ended up trying the flautas and dipping them in queso. It was pretty dang good. I do plan to go back. Oddly enough they highly recommended their burger!

Had a business lunch at El Jalapeno. I thought I would try the pasta since it seemed unique for a Mexican restaurant to offer. It was HUGE and HEAVY - so not ideal for a business lunch lol - BUT, I was really glad I ordered it. My inner fat kid and carb lover enjoyed it - super cheesy!

The most bland Mexican I've had in my entire life. Taste like water with the smallest sprinkle of salt. Servers were nice. Ambiance is definitely lacking. Hands down the most trash Mexican food I've ever had. Would not recommend at all and will never eat here again.

In town for nephews baseball game....and it was taco night at El Jalapeno! We had dinner here before the game. I love Mexican and this definitely hit the spot. The queso was super yummy and the salsa was stellar. I am a fan of medium salsa with full flavor and this had it! They do have a great variety on the menu. I heard about the awesome burgers they create...but on this trip I was there to dominate tacos! Our server did a marvelous job. Our drinks were never empty and her service with a smile was very appreciated. She and the kitchen staff should be commended. If in the area again we definitely will stop in. I had a chick soft taco (2) and 1 chicken crispy taco that I was super excited to eat. It was a great selection. The tacos were stuffed - well worth it. Get in here, eat and thank me later. Solid Mexican food in the small town of Haskell.If you live in or around Haskell you are well aware of the limited dining options. And you are probably aware that that this is a good average Mexican restaurant. If for some reason you are traveling through Haskell, this is a decent place to eat. Drop in have a burger or their Mexican food. I ordered carne asada, but somehow the waitress got confused and brought me carne asada tacos. Probably my fault, I think I got her a little flustered when I ordered a chili toreado and hotter salsa. She didn't know what a chili toreado was. The tacos were still very good though. We ordered a variety of menu items and they were all good. We got there at about 11:30 Sunday morning and by the time we left the place it was packed with customers waiting.

Used to love this restaurant. It was one of my favorite places to eat. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore. I ordered the Haskell special with shrimp. It was so salty I couldn't even force myself to eat more than a couple of bites. My husband ordered crispy beef tacos. The beef had way too much cumin flavor. The chips and salsa tasted good. The iced tea was fresh.When the waitress asked about the food, I mentioned that mine was too salty to eat. She didn't offer to have it remade or ask if I wanted something else. She just said I will let the cook know. Was not pleased with that response considering that I left the entire plate of food untouched except for a couple of bites. I ended up going to Sonic across the street afterwards because I was still hungry. Hopefully it was just an off day for the cook as usually the place is packed with patrons.

We love this local restaurant. The food is consistently good and the service is very friendly!

Food was delicious. The ambiance feels truly Mexican. It is a self service place. You order on your own in a piece of paper and wait until you are called to pick up your order.

Great food. Great margaritas. Great service. A lot to choose from on the menu. If you dont want mexican food they have awesome burgers!!!
