From what the boyfriend had told me, there are two locations and the one located a little bit further north isn't as good as the original location. I have yet been to the newer second location, because I'm so comfortable with this location. Let me start off by saying that this place definitely looks sketchy AF and I'm here to tell you that you'll be okay, because the food though--the food is pretty great. I want to compliment them on how fresh and flavorful their oysters are; also it costs around $11-$12 for a dozen of oysters. Each oyster has a piece of squid, shrimp, and jalapeno on it. The hint of lime and spice makes my heart skip a beat. I've enjoyed oysters at a few places, but hands down, their oysters is one of the best. Ceviche is also pretty good here and so are the other entrees, but to be completely honest, I just go here for the oysters and ceviche. The almond horchata is pretty good! For the longest time I did not know that they had almond horchata.

I'm in love. Seriously in love with this place. We've driven by this place a hundred times and wondered about it. This morning were looking for a place to eat breakfast and the parking lot was so packed we decided to give it a try. Omelette made with chorizo, cheese and pico, out of this world. Eggs served with fresh side bacon, beans, rice and toasted bread, wonderful. Ido not have the words to tell you how good the rice and bacon were. The homemade tortillas made me so happy! They didn't need ANYTHING on them. Can't wait to go back and try dinner.

The food is exceptional!!! I have had serval dishes here. I had the seafood cocktail, the ceviche, and the Fish soup. All were cooked with great flavor and care. Portions of protein are generous and they have Valentina hot sauce which is a bonus. parking is plentiful and easy to get in and out of. The atmosphere is casual and there are two tvs on, both on the Spanish channel. Not to worry though the waitstaff is bilingual and very friendly. I really enjoyed that there is no music on.. none.. unlike other places in the city where you can't hear yourself think. Now the downside...The bathrooms need a serious remodel. They are clean and well stocked however; I stepped on a mat which was covering up a drainage area surrounded by missing tile. Stepping on a pot hole in the potty??? I'm not lovin that

Honestly I couldn't find anything to eat because I'm vegan, but they were an oasis is a sea of closed businesses during COVID-19. I was passing by and I thought "Mexican Coca-Cola" and they didn't disappoint. They were nice, the restaurant was clean, and they were honest that they didn't have anything without animal products.

OMG! El Asadero !!! I'm completely smitten! I recently gave up Looking for real authentic Mexican food in OKC & have been driving all the way to the Texas border like an idiot to get my fiesta on! Everyone that knows me knows I have a little inner Mexican & he gets hungry for Real Mexican often!!! What a pain he has been! LOL I was driving down Western Ave & bang! I saw the El Asadero sign, it was glowing like a magical oasis in the desert surrounded by sun beams like a sign from the ancient Aztecs sun gods! A little inner voice (Jose) cries "pull over now gringo It's time for Mexican fiesta!" Jose was hungry & he always gets his way ;)Hubby & I walked into this joint & what a complete Mexican dive just like in Mexico complete with Mexican music & crazy festive colors & decor. Its an old brick square building with big windows all around lots of light & big orange booths that wrap around the room with tables in the middle and a semi-open kitchen at one end. We were the only gringos in the place. We slide into a booth & a waitress quickly appears with two menus & takes our drink order. We get a couple Coronas, she brings chips, salsa, & queso. The chips were fresh made, the salsa was really good & the queso was on par with most free queso around town. We order a chile relleno & a tamale al la carte for starters. When she brought those things out & sat them down b4 us hubby took one bite of that chile relleno & his eyes bout popped out of his head like a cartoon character! I peeled that corn husk off that tamale & the aroma alone comin off it filled my head with visions of days gone by traveling my favorite country, Mexico. Hubby & I were passing them back & forth to each other eating them like wild mad dogs fighting over the last morsel! LOL He was as astonished as I was! We quickly wave the waitress back over & after I vowed my allegiance to her heavenly chile relleno & it being the best I have ever had in my life, I then promised to worship the El Asadero Gods for all eternity if I may have another. She was very kind & appreciated my truth & sincerity. She totally relaxes, a big smile forms on her face from ear to ear, then says we should try the tacos & the special taco sauce!! "Tacos & special sauce?!" OMG! YES! There must be more heavenly offerings! "Yes, please bring us the tacos & special sauce!" WOW, Hubby & I are really excited now! There can't be more awesomeness from the Aztec Gods of El Asadero?! Could there?? Then she brings this plate of three giant tacos. One beef, one chicken, & one chorizo. All on house made corn tortillas with fresh cilantro & onions with a giant squeeze bottle of the special taco sauce. That did it. I was in a fog. I started to make out the sign...it read; Welcome to Mexican Heaven. We were passing tacos back & fourth, squirting the special taco sauce all over the tacos & in our pie holes it was so good I wanted to drink the stuff! LOL The beef taco was charred, tender & flavorful 2. DIE. FOR. The chicken was DOPE! Like chicken crack. It was pollo heroine. The chorizo was so tender & light with no greasy flavor whatsoever absolutely amazballs! The whole experience was like a Led Zeppelin song that punches you in the face! Then you jump up & shout "do it again PLEASE!" Then as if the EL Asadero Gods had not blessed us enough, when we received our bill it was less than $25!That did it. Hubby was in the fog too now. He also saw the sign....it read; Welcome to Mexican Heaven :))

This place isn't one of my favorite places, but I've never had a bad experience with them and it's close to my job so I come pretty often. They have switched owners a few times over the years, so if you've had a bad experience in the past, chances are it was under a different management. I'm pretty content with the current management. The servers are nice and the decor is pretty authentic. The food is good. I like that the salsa they serve with chips as an appetizer is actually authentic salsa, not just tomato salsa. I've had the fajitas before and they're okay. My favorite is their Caldo de Siete Mares (Seven Sea Soup). It's huge -- I always take the left overs for dinner.

I am not going to lie I was a little hesitant coming to this place because the parking lot was empty but I am glad my boyfriend choose this place. Don't let the looks fool you this is a hidden gem.My boyfriend and I both got the Carne Asada. D to the LICIOUS! 2 decent size pieces of steak that were marinated to perfection! Most Mexican restaurants do little seasoning if any to their beef but not here. This is similar to marinated fajita meat you can get at the latino markets. Served with guacamole salad, rice and beans. I cleaned the plate..scraped it and all.I was not too fond of the salsa and queso but my boyfriends loved the salsa. Chips were freshly made and very good.I am sure I will be back!
