East Gourmet Restaurant

Well this buffet has been the only Chinese buffet in McAlester for a long time. There is a Chinese place across the street but for your money's worth it's best to come here. They have a pretty nice selection of dishes. They have seafood, broccoli beef, usually 2-3 different chicken dishes out at a time, egg rolls, lots of fresh fruit and my favorite, lots of desserts. Oh yea did I mention the ice cream machine! Yum. No buffet is complete without an ice cream right!? They are always busy inside but the wait for a table is not long, if at all. The employees are always nice and I always eat here when in town. If you're in the mood for some good Chinese food and can't decide on one dish, then come here and eat until your stomachs content.

This is probably the best Chinese buffet in southeast Oklahoma. The green beans are sometimes too crunchy and are hard for my mom to chew. But everything else is good.

The restaurant charged my card twice....the original total amount was paid in full before we left the restaurant, but, 12 hrs later I received a notice that I was being charged for a $10 tip....without my consent!!! I have been robbed!!!the server did not speak or understand English, she did not bring us refills and she was rude in manners...the food was not edible had no flavor and the entire experience was not satisfying

I don't know where the other yelpers got their review, but this food was amazing. Fresh and hot delicious and service was wonderful. We will definitely go back.

Big buffet with lots of different options. From the basic items like sweet and sour, beef and broccoli, peppered steak, egg rolls, chicken rolls, teriyaki skewers, lo mein noodles, rice, egg drop soup, crab Rangoon, sugared doughnuts, etc. A little different things also like spicy pork or chicken, Mongolian beef, seafood items, garlic chicken, pot stickers, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed green beans, sweet and sour soup, etc. For the picky kids in tow there's nuggets, French fries, and cheesy casserole like things. There's an expansive dessert bar with fruits, jellos, cakes, cookies, and an ice cream machine that more often that not is working. I've noticed lately they put out smaller batches on the buffet more frequently, so it's improved and timing isn't a big deal. I however normally go early for super fresh and hot food. It's usually busy anytime of day but if you request to sit in the back it's quieter and less crowded. I don't mind the extra distance to the buffet. Service always meets expectations for a buffet; drinks stay filled, dirty plates are cleared, and the check made available. Some staff speak limited English but all staff are still very helpful, friendly, and polite. To-go orders are available from either a menu or from the buffet by weight. I've cheaply and easily fed two with a to-go order from the buffet without paying for overage.

First time in this restaurant and will have to say it was good. Food was fresh. The building and decor could use a refresh and the owner could stop yelling at his wife from across the restaurant.

One gentleman was incredibly rude to me. I asked if there was chicken broth in the egg drop soup and a man working there literally yelled at me that "the egg is laid from a chicken!" When I clarified again that I was asking about the broth, he yelled again -- "the egg is laid from a chicken and there is chicken broth in it!" The rage in response to my question was totally unwarranted, especially because I asked very sweetly with 0 attitude myself. Food is relatively low quality, though there is lots of it and very cheap. The other servers were very sweet so I made it two stars instead of one.

The food is consistent and the service is always great! My family has never had a bad experience at this restaurant!

Definitely don't go there. It's the pits and so is the staff and cashier. Cashier is very rude when you ask for a senior discount. He said you have to ask when you pay. Wouldn't answer our question, if they had the senior discount or not? The food was all not good. The peeled cooked shrimp made us sick. My husband had to run to the bathroom all night after eating it. Some of the other foods were not fresh. The rice and noodles were bland. The beef in the beef broccoli partially uncooked and too much soy, bad flavor. The ambrosia salad had rotten mandarin oranges. The rest of the food was not tasty at all. I would never go back. Desert was limited. They don't mop their floors properly and the way to the bathroom was cluttered and dirty with wet floors. The worst part of the whole experience was the rudeness of the owners like they hated you to be there and didn't care if they served you slop. The only want your money and don't care cause they are right next to the fwy there's not much around they know they will still get business from people passing through all the time.I call it a trap and unhealthy filthy place to eat!!!! Also, their parking lot around their restaurant was full of cigarette butts. It's a NO, NO for this restaurant!!!

My wife and I have eaten here several times, and enjoy it. Food has always been good, friendly staff. Reasonably priced, we will be back. I think most people will be satisfied with this place.
