Food and service was excellent. we moved here from SoCal 3.5 years ago. Ate at Doni tonight...best Italian food since we moved here.

The main thing was the amount of spaghetti was large. I could have had less noodles and more meat. Sauce was tasty, not too sour or too sweet. The rooms were large but all painted black that made it look upscale. Waiter was very efficient.

I don't like leaving one star reviews but this place was not good at all. I don't judge restaurants by how they look or what the general aesthetic is - but by the quality of food and the flavor. Our server was great and really attentive but the food was lacking in every aspect: zero flavor and terrible quality. We gave this place a chance based on the ratings but I should have known better.99% of the food served was frozen or canned with no added spices or herbs. One of us ordered tomato basil soup which for some reason had badly pureed broccoli in it. No basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, parsley, marjoram, garlic, onion, etc. in any of our dishes. Whoever is running the kitchen needs to do some quality control and get this place on track.Needless to say we won't return.

We really enjoyed Doni's for our first visit. The restaurant is very pretty and clean! Has more of a romantic/date night setting. We went in for lunch with our two kids and we all enjoyed our food! It was all very cheesy and delicious. Great lunch specials and of course, wonderful wine. My biggest con is they only give the first 4 garlic rolls for free and then charge I believe .75 per roll afterwards. They also don't give oil/balsamic dipping, I believe it was $5 extra. We will be back for a date night soon though!

I've been craving a new Italian place in Norman, and I am so glad that Dioni's moved in! For our first visit the wait staff were super friendly and helpful, and we never had an empty glass or long wait for our food - our server was on it! The restaurant is a bit dimly lit (if you have bad eyes like me make sure you have your cell phone flashlight if you go for dinner) but it adds to the overall calmer and relaxed atmosphere. There's lots of room inside so you don't feel like you're sitting right on top of another party! The food is delicious - I've had the carbonara and their tortellini in vodka sauce! Both dishes were super flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked. It's our new favorite pasta spot in Norman!

The food was very good. The service was very attentive. The ambiance was under-stated. Overall 4 stars. There are two Italian restaurants that I feel are even better. Food-wise - Gaberrinos and Othellos are better but Ambiance-wise Doni is the best of the 3.

Everything was very good, the chefs special was great and the shrimp and clams were good, but as with most clam dishes it was a somewhat fishy, more garlic would have helped. The stuffed mushrooms were awesome, especially the sauce that the mushrooms were in. The bread was great, lots of garlic flavor. Great bar and ambiance. Service was great as well, we will be back.

Food was great! Service was great. I will be back. The restaurant is well decorated and the temperature of the room was cozy.
