Don Ciro's

Not Good. Something is not right. The restaurant has very good reviews. We had dined at the Don Ciro's in Seminole and had an excellent meal there. I expected the same at the Don Ciro's in Shawnee. It was not. This Don Ciro's was all zeros. The salsas were weak. The cilantro in the salsa picante was so old that had turned dark. The chili sauce on my burrito and my wife's enchilada was watery. The enchilada was to have chicken in it; none there, just cheese. The taco nothing special. Bland beans and bland watery ground beef in the burrito. I gave up on my meal. Not recommended at all. Usually, I can find something good to say. Well, the service is fast. Bad food served fast. As a result of today's meal failure, I have been placed on temporary probation for selecting restaurants. This is going to be hard to recover from.

I can't say enough good things about Don Ciro's! The customer service is always great! Drinks are kept filled, chips and salsa are bottomless, and the food is always delicious! I prefer my salsa spicier than what they serve, I always ask for the hotter salsa. It's not only spicy but tastes great too! I moved here from CA so my taste for Mexican food isn't the same as the Midwest. I am not a Tex Mex gal. I prefer more authentic Mexican food and this is pretty darn good for small town Shawnee! Rice and beans are flavorful, food is always hot and doesn't lack seasoning like other places here in town. Rice is always cooked to perfection and not crunchy. It's crazy I have to even say this, but I've never been in a place where I've had more uncooked rice in my life! They will ask you at the end if you want a sopapilla as well (a little sweet treat).When you're feeling like Mexican food, give this small town place a try. You won't be sorry! When we walked into Don Cairo's, it has the feel of a well cared for, clean, modern cafe; we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Tortilla chips with queso and two different salsas were brought to the table, along with nice, warm, fresh tasting tortillas -- the queso was very bland, but the salsas were nicely seasoned and when mixed with the cheese, made for a nice dip that we finished in whole. My partner ordered the fajita lunch special and I ordered carnitas; both dishes were well made and tasted nice, but what made it for me was the refried beans side dish. I am not the biggest fan of rf beans, but these had an extra flavor similar to having been boiled in an artisan beer...it was delicious! My partner was impressed with the pico de gallo having fresh cilantro and firm diced tomatoes.We felt a bit rushed, but it was the beginning of the lunch hour and the place filled up quickly.We would both recommend Don Cairo's for a quick, inexpensive, good lunch.

Ordered the Fajitas the chicken was very dry and rubber tasting. No flavor. Very disappointed. Been going to eat there since they moved into there first building. I picked up order. $15.00 is alot of money ,just to throw away.

This place is always really good and the service is great too! The had great music playing too! The quesabirria was delicious and I love the warm salsa! Great salsa, queso, tortillas and Sopapilla!! Well worth the price!

Love, love, love! The food, the atmosphere, the people. Leo is the best! The guacamole is damn near perfect all year long. We've eaten a little bit of everything on the menu. Hard to choose a favorite. Hawaiian Fajitas are always on point.

We came to Shawnee and needed a good place to eat. I'm so glad we found this place. I got the lunch fajitas, plenty of leftovers. My spouse got enchiladas and was happy with his meal. The prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate coming here again.

Excellent food with friendly service. Nice variety on the menu. Tamale's were very good! The restaurant has an inviting atmosphere.

Stopped here on our road trip due to good yelp reviews. Service was great and the food excellent. You will die for the warm chips and queso dip !
