Dawn's Place Cafe

No, I do not know why this place has a 3.5 rating. It should be 4.0 what a cute little place. The waitress was really nice. Very efficient. Nicole took my order and was a breath of fresh air. It came out in a timely manner huge portions at a fair price and it was yummy. I'm going back for dinner

Ate at this restaurant recently and it's under new ownership. Loved the Dawn's Place when Dawn owned it! The food was not great. I got the fried catfish and it was not great. It was not seasoned well at all. Can't quite put my finger on it. It was clean tasting, not earthy at all. Just not up to par. The corn tastes like frozen corn heated in a pot. No seasoning at all. Added butter, salt, and pepper, but it was still not flavorful since it wasn't cooked with seasoning. Really don't understand a restaurant not seasoning their vegetables. The fries were ordered crispy and they were darker all right, but flimsy. I suspect the oil temp was not hot enough. Again, what restaurant can't cook fries?? The lettuce salad and dressing was the best part of the meal, hence the 2 star rating. Else it would have been a one star. Service was spot on! No problem there at all. I might try it again a few months from now. Maybe still working out the kinks.

Sweet country kitchen atmosphere. Friendly staff and great service. Breakfast was yummy and I will return.

I would give this place a 5 all day long except you freeze your butt off in there this time of year and service is slow. Bring your coat, great food.

It has been a year since we were there, but we made a point to stop on our way back home as well as on our way down south. It has great comfort food and quaint atmosphere. The outside needs a face lift... but the cook and wait staff were great!

Dawn's place is very consistent, really clean, good service, and big portions! New owner is doing a good job.
