I would have enjoyed this so much more if they accepted cards, but they didn't advertise at all as cash only. I had one expectation, and that was to take home some lemon kolaches & check out other booths, but I was the bimbo that didn't have cash. You would think by now in 2022 that town festivals would have a card acceptor or an ATM nearby but oh well, that's my mistake. Just a bummer I didn't get to try any. We tried to get some roasted pecans but they also were cash only. It was just disappointing because we didn't know the payment limitations until we got to the front of the line. Twice. Try again next year I guess.

It's been more than a few years since I last visited Yukon's annual Czech celebration. The schedule showed the day began with a parade. Missed it. Police presence as we drove through Yukon and a few officers roaming the grounds. There were kolaches by the dozen $20 and individuals available by donation to benefit a children's group. Plenty of indoor seating and it featured a large screen tv for the OU game. It had a strong carnival vibe with kiddie rides and prizes for the dart thrower. Crafters on hand with quilted jackets, woodworking and jewelry. Funnel cakes, dogs on a stick, frito chili pie, turkey legs and Indian tacos. Slushies, beer, freeze dried candy, sodas and lemonade. Traditional Czech dancing with dancers in full regalia. Seemed to be 420 friendly as the aroma wafted through the air. There was something for everyone.

My friends and I had a great time at Czech Fest over the weekend! We watched the parade, checked out the rides, food trucks, Polka Dancing , Czech food, etc. We came for the Kolaches/Kolaces (depending on how you're used to spelling them) and we're so happy that they didn't run out (like other reviewers indicated about previous years). I have to agree that there wasn't a ton of "authentic" Czech food, etc but if you want the real thing then you'll have to visit the Czech Republic one day! It was definitely a great time and we'll definitely be back next year!

I've given this event five full stars even though I really think it's worth four at most. Why? Because my Daddy's people have been in Canadian County since the Land Run, and, well, the Czech Festival in Yukon is something I grew up with. LITERALLY.Expect very little true Czech food, a helluva lot of beer and dancing, and dozens of different little charity booths.

They always run out of kolache early. It's more like the medieval fair , not a Czech celebration. Sad really.

I was disappointed with this years festival. I recall going here some years back and it was more authentic. Now it just seems like a reason for the locals to get drunk on 3pt beer and throw a carnival. The actual Czech part of the festival is only a fraction nowadays. The rest is filled with cheap fair food and loud 90s rock/country. When you do find the Czech area though, the kolaches are great and everyone dancing to polka is having a blast. The beer vendor this year was Shiner Bock for some reason. Now look, I know there is a large Czech community in Texas (Shiner Bock home) but come on, get some real Czech beer... All in all I probably won't be back next year unless they bring it back to their roots.

I was beyond disappointed in this thingy. It was like a teeny tiny state fair with an itsy bitsy corner of czech stuff. There was only one kind of czech food and it was nothing more special than kielbasa sausage I can buy at the grocery store for 1/6th of the cost. Everything else was typical fair food crap. There were some arts and crafts stuff but very little of it was czech. Honestly, I don't understand how this was even a czech festival. We won't go back next year.
