Mac when he was younger
Urn with Fluffabye's name messed up and shoddy printing, and ***missing paw print*** that can never be made now.

It kills me to post a scathing review as i have been a client of Companion Animal Clinic (CAC) OKLAHOMA CITY since 2007. Ever since Dr. Bixler left, things have continually gone downhill.Fluffabye, female cat and patient of CAC since 2016 needed to have her belly and behind shaved due to fur matting and hygiene reasons, for the first time. The vet recommended anesthesia due to difficulty handling her, but there was no discussion of this resulting in my cat's death. Fluffabye was about 10 years old. I understand she had other previously-undiagnosed health issues which may have resulted in her death.I now also recall a past experience when I took in a young male cat (Pipsqueak) years ago into CAC to be neutered, and was instead killed by cardiac arrest/enlarged heart after anesthesia. Except back then, Dr. Bixler went out of his way to determine cause of death (enlarged heart) and he comforted me over the phone and I understood and forgave and did not charge me anything. It is reasonable to expect some feel of caring from all of the staff when you pet unexpectedly dies from a medical procedure.I arranged to come back to see Fluffabye's body one last time, and ask for cremation and paw print (see pics), which is a separate service by Pet Memories Cremation through CAC. Checking out, I was sad but not offended until I was asked to pay some $300 for the services that would now never benefit my cat and killed by cat. I protested and they brought services costs down to $30, but I shouldn't have had to pay anything based on previous precedent, and I shouldn't even have had to ask. I willingly paid fully for the burial costs. I thought the worst was over and I could just move on soon.A few days later, they called to let me know Fluffabye's ashes were ready to pick up, and I waited until after the winter snow storm finished and melted to go pick them up.I called and spoke with Samantha to arrange to pick up the askes. I picked them up, but when I looked, I noticed the printed label on the urn misaligned letters on Fluffabye's name, but most of all, the **paw print was missing**. I reported the missing paw print to (maybe it was Samantha?) the purple-haired young woman at the front desk, who checked with someone back into the office. She came out with a face as emotionless as can be and simply said, "We have no record of that [the paw print]." And then stared silently at me like it was my fault and I had no recourse. Zero empathy, zero professionalism, zero self-awareness, zero competence, zero accountability. An attitude of essentially "we deny wrongdoing and so it must be your fault." When I was standing right there grieving, holding in my hand the ashes of my cat previously killed in CAC's office.I became very upset and insisted that I did indeed order a paw print -- as I have done for all cats over the years -- and Toxic Little Miss Purple Hair flipped her hand at me and said, "Okay you need to go." and then walked back to her seat. I was still grieving the death of my cat. And now, evidently, it was all my fault and I just needed to go away because accountability for mistakes is kryptonite to them and conflict resulting from CAC's mistake is not their responsibility to deal with so I get to go home dismissed, confused, and YES as a MALE human being don't matter, because it's my fault Purple Hair is toxic and incompetent and can't even redirect the issue to someone who can help me. Where's the sign out front saying, "Disclaimer: If we kill your cat and return an improperly ordered burial service, you f_ck off!"???Little Miss Toxic Purple Hair needs to be fired. Hard stop. She is useless beyond setting up appointments and hostile to me as a grieving client of 14 years holding my pet's ashes in my hand in front of her. She just doesn't care. But when I specify I want a paw print -- AND I MOST CERTAINLY DID -- I expect one to be made. I get it -- it was a mistake. Someone overlooked it after I told them I wanted one and they said "okay" with Fluffabye's dead body in my arms. When it is missing, and Little Miss Purple Hair's attitude of "f*ck off you're dismissed" is exactly the thing that will turn this into a lawsuit. Maybe just taking me into a separate room so I could air my devastating grief and frustration with an office manager or something? But no. Just "get out, our mistake is your problem, get out". This was intolerable. No male staff member has ever treated me this way -- ever -- in any context. Quit hiring self-entitled empathy-devoid toxic princesses with purple hair. And you just watch, any replies from CAC to this will be a repeat of the severe trauma I experienced. No one is accountable anymore. No one own's their sh_t. And Greiving Clients are made to know they aren't worth anything and told, "You can leave now." Not even a word of comfort, just "here's your bag with the urn in it, now get lost NOW". Sickening.

I think I may have done this once before, but I'm doing it again. After 3 years of no issues my other half took one of our lab mixes to be groomed somewhere else, he now won't let anyone near his paws, I need to thank these people at companion again as they are always amazing, even when my pet is less than cooperative. Thank you for taking care of our animals like they were your own! Thank you for always being helpful with the 100 questions we have and most of all thank you for providing such excellent care. My friends and family now know that our pets go here and only here. If you are looking for quality care, people that are kind and compassionate then this is the place to take your pets.

We recently started taking our dogs here. So far so good. The service has been great and the prices have been reasonable. They have been transparent with all charges and what the are for. They even price matched a medication, and it saved us almost half the price. They have been so good with our dogs that we are planning on switching our cats to this vet as well.

Nothing special about this place. The staff doesn't seem like they could care on way or the other about your pets or your business. They also have a really high mark up on prescriptions for pets. Example: 6 mos heart guard for $74 thru CPC, but available online for $25 less. They will do price match, so that's a plus, but 30% mark up shows what they think of the customers. I have boarded my pet here since they are familiar with my pets condition, and it appears they treated them well. Prices for boarding aren't terrible. TL;DR: pets get treated okay, people and wallet don't.

Dr. Jim Bixler and his wife Heather with their very caring staff took excellent care of our beloved Mac for 10 yrs saving his life 3 times so we could enjoy him for as long God had intended. They took care of his cremation, sent flowers, and made a donation in his name for a tree to be planted in his name. You couldn't ask for a more caring, and compassionate veterinarian. I am so glad I found his clinic all those years ago

Be careful with this clinic. They were supposed to be giving me a prescription for sentinel heart worm pills for my Great Dane that weighs 140 lbs, but what I actually got was a box of Heartgard for dogs up to 25lbs...didn't notice it until I got home. When I went back to return the pills, I asked for a written prescription so I could get it filled at Sam's Club Pharmacy--they refused, said they don't give written scripts for medications they carry. There price was $90 vs. $53 at Sam's. That's a huge mark up!!! And to top it all off, they were extremely rude! Will never do business with them again!

I go out of my way to come here. These people care about your furry babies. First and foremost, they are more cost affordable than other second opinions I have researched in the area. And they are equally as knowledgeable! Their recommendations have helped both my dogs (and at one point a ferret) get past some uncomfortable circumstances.Compared to "Big Box" companies (read: PetSmart/PetCo) they charge less because they don't have you enroll in expensive monthly plans. Companion Clinic will walk you through your options so you can find something that works for you. I've had awesome experiences with each vet and tech here-- it can be busy sometimes but they are hustling every day. They answer all of my nervous questions and have performed everything from general care to very specialized X-Rays and inspections. I have a SHORTER WAIT TIME and better explanation of services performed, compared to Neel (who is also great--but has performed the same care but for more $$)Thank you Dr Ledbetter and Dr Bixler! You two are the reason we come back!!(Also we hear the techs baby talking to the dogs through the door and it is so sweet)

We had the absolute worst experience of any clinic we've gone too. First off the lady at the front desk was not only rude and talked down to me after I simply asked if there were any appointments available, but she also lied because when I called back another nice lady who I believe was a technician told me that she had an appointment available at two. That wasn't even the most offensive thing. They told us we had to do a parvo test in order to rule that out and that we had to pay for that before hand which we we're more than willing and capable of doing. After we did that the nice technician came in with another lady with the things they needed for the test. But before they got my dog the other lady pulled the technician out of the room just to ask her if we had already paid for it, as if we were incapable of hearing her on the other side of the door. The worst part is that they charged 100 bucks to tell us there was nothing wrong with him and we had to spend 160 bucks the next day for another vet to give us more information and answers. If you want to save your money I recommend going elsewhere. Bad service and inaccurate information. My puppy was 6 weeks and 2 pounds and we had listened to what these people said he would still be sick.
