Cocina El Girasol

The food is always good and fresh. The service is top-notch. We really enjoy going to dinner here. Our favorite dish is quesabirrias. So good!

OK. First of all the service was exceptional. I didn't catch our weight staff's name, but she was so friendly and helpful. Our table ordered taco salads, taco birrias, and a meal that had a taco and an enchilada.Everyone raved about the taco salads and the Beria tacos, but the taco enchilada meal was just meh. Sopapillas were hollow and crispy. Not soft and delicious. But the coffee was really really good. Flavored with cinnamon. For one person's meal, plus the coffee and sopapilla and the glass of water came to $30

The place had good food. It was a quick place to duck into for a quick bite. It's always nice to find a place that has decent food. I would go back if I'm in the area.

First the good stuff - five stars for our waitress. The service was great. The food was good too. The chips were hot and fresh, corn tortillas were house made and delicious. Seafood tostadas were loaded with seafood and packed with flavor. Now the bad stuff - walked in and the smell was offputting. Hard to describe but unpleasant. Not from the food. Seemed more likely something in the carpet in the general dining area. We were Seated in the main dining area and it was exceptionally hot. Told A/C was on. They offered us to sit in another area which was a little cooler but wouldn't (or couldn't) turn the ceiling fan on overhead. Menu showed photo of plate with two seafood tostadas beside the menu listing of the item with price. I ordered the seafood tostadas and was charged double the price listed since that is only for one, in spite of the photo showing two.

The ambiance was quiet, not too busy and friendly. The food was more latin than straight mexican and had good flavors. The service was a little slow but I think it is just a new place trying to gain business.

Based on some of the reviews we were going to pass, but we went ahead and tried Cocina El Girasol! The staff were so friendly! It is an older facility, so don't expect anything fancy, but that's exactly what we were looking for...casual lunch! The food was good, and the added sauce options allowed us to personalize the flavors. The margarita was good, but it could have been a little stronger. If you want a place to grab a quick bite with friendly people, try them out.

Don't waste your money and time. Very disappointing food. Overpriced dishes, don't provide enough food. The dining area smells really bad because it has an old carpet that it appears is not clean often. There are many better Mexican places than this. This is an insult to Mexican food.

Had enchiladas, just hamburger with cheese on them, there was no flavor. Margaritas were good. They hv beer and margaritas but no other drinks. They did hv a lot of food selections. Service was great but we were the only ones in there for a while. Atmosphere was nice.

The food was amazing and the service was the best I have ever experienced. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the tables and chairs were clean no sticky floors or weird smells. The food was authentic and I loved every piece of it will be coming back soon.

I liked the food . They could do a little better with their drinks , only offer machine margaritas and only 2 kind . Wished they had more appetizers and drink choices . They also would benefit to add a little cute table deco and make it look more inviting but I'll be back for the food
