On my recent trip out to Oklahoma, my friend took me down-home to where she grew up. Her parents took us out to lunch at the Chuck Wagon BBQ. This is one of their favorite places around, and they go there quite regularly. My friend's parents knew quite a few of the patrons there, and it was interesting to be a part of the small-town, everyone-knows-everyone atmosphere. This place is an order-at-the-counter, get your tag, and pick your seat kind of place. It was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon for lunch, and we sat in the back room which had LOTS of animal heads on display. You've been warned if you don't like that kind of thing! While they are known for their barbeque, they also have pretty decent Mexican food as well. I went for a Chicken Fajita Nacho plate which was a heaping plateful of tortilla chips, beans, cheese, chicken, green onions, tomatoes, more cheese, and plenty of side condiments for your eating pleasure. It was SO good, but way too much for me to eat. You also get a full basket of chips and salsa and cheese sauce when you order a Mexican dish. Four of us ordered Mexican so we have four BIG baskets of chips. There was SO MUCH FOOD. This is not a fancy place, just a good old country restaurant with really good food! If the locals are going there regularly, it must be good!

Great pit stop - I had a sliced beef sandwich - bread was amazing and grilled , brisket was tender and flavorful. Decor and service were good as well. A+

I really wasn't feeling this place on the drive here, but I'm so glad my mom wanted to go. The inside is very old fashioned, and the stage is very friendly. Their bbq sauce doesn't taste like regular bbq sauce. Its less tangier and has less of a kick, but it's still really good. The ribs are so juicy and tender. The fries were pretty good and they were thick cut. That also gave us raw onion with our meal, and they tasted pretty good with my meal in the bbq sauce. I didn't leave too full but I did leave satisfied. And it's worth the drive.

We go here a lot. We love the food from the 'mexican' to the bbq. It's always worth the trip. Love the chicken strips and mashed potatoes!!

Continues to go downhill.Frequently waving off half a dozen flies from our food.Unable to detect any cheese on a quesadilla with dry nearly burnt chicken. Employee watching videos on her phone at full volume during two visits.Gets a to-go order wrong and refuses to do anything about it.

I haven't ate here in about 5 years because they consistently got the orders wrong. Decided to try it again and it's just not good. The burgers used to be really good. They have zero flavor or seasoning now. The sourdough bread is what makes them okay. The fries are bland, no salt or anything on them. I might try back in another 5 years or so.

Bbq used to be great years ago before the founder sold the place. Now the bbq is disgusting, however they make good Tex meX! Had to take point off for bbq being in the name, but it being basically a Mexican restaurant now. Don't order the bbq!

Great pulled pork sandwich! The cole-slaw and baked beans were on point! We also had a great server named Landon....too bad we live in KY otherwise this would be a regular spot for us. Nothing fancy but it gets 5 stars! Thanks for a great meal! They also respect our military!

If half a star were an option that is exactly what they would get! After a hard day at work, I decided to treat my family to a meal of $79 for the seven of us. We walked up and ordered, everyone had barbecue, but I had the chicken chimichanga. When our food was brought, I noticed that mine was beef, so I pointed it out to the waitress. She responded with no that's chicken, which made me feel kind of stupid like I did not know what chicken was. After she looked and seeing that I was correct she grabbed my plate and replaced it with chicken, only to short me the guacamole. At this point I did not bring it up anymore. After all this nonsense, on my plate there was pieces of blue plastic embedded into the plate and a few flakes that were under the chimichanga. She says "ohhh ok", I did not necessarily want my money back but after seeing that she really did not give a crap I will not be back. This was a waste of time and money and apparently this place has no management. Please note in my complaint I did not bring up the fact that they shorted my uncle one of his sides or the fact that I had to get up and get my own drinks! This is the biggest waste of money in Stephens County!!!
