My favorite dish here is the gyro platter. Comes w/ house made freshly cut French fries. Ask for a side of house made ranch. Y U M. MAY '18

My stellar breakfast: gyro omelette + tasty taters. Fresh & delicious. Cooked to order. Spectacular. January 2019
There is some kinda magic in these pancakes. They have a sweet & savory flavor-a bit of cinnamon, I think. I love 'em! January 2019
Some might describe it as a "hole in the wall," as do I. This place is friendly, immigrant owned, and awesome. Feb. 2017

Daily specials are always good. Family owned, been there forever. Say hello to Sonny when you walk in. My go to is the Spanish omelette. Wide menu, everything is delicious.

This is a little hole-in-the-wall on the south side of the city. I honestly had no idea it even existed! There isn't a ton of space for parking, but it's worth going in! There is an eclectic mix of down-home country cooking, diner-style favorites, and randomly gyros on the menu. I got the cheeseburger and fries as a safe bet. The burger was delicious, but the fries were definitely too floppy for my taste. The server was friendly and great at his job. While there aren't a ton of choices, they do well with what they offer. I'll definitely be stopping back in later to try some more.

The Choice Café is an immigrant owned hole-in-the-wall serving some of the most delicious food in the area. The menu cover shares the story of long-time owner, Sonny, who came to America to be a petroleum engineer. He put himself through college at OU by working at restaurants. He worked in the oil fields, but missed home cooked meals, as the story goes. He worked in various big restaurants and in 1996 decided to open his own spot-a tiny mom & pop café now known as Choice Café located on S. Shields. He is the main man in the kitchen and certainly knows his way around. I dropped in for lunch recently and was really surprised. I didn't know what to expect, but I left full and really happy and planning for my return. I heard about this spot from folks that work in the area--it came highly recommended and boy were they right. --FOOD--They hand-cut their potatoes for French fries each morning, the waitress told me. That was enough for me--yes, please!! I was delighted with the fries. They were served hot (a MUST for fries) and were dusted with a tasty seasoning--I couldn't get enough. I heard the waitress calling orders back to the kitchen as we sat and waited for our food. I heard her call out a dish with a double side of French fries and now I know why--don't miss out--they are awesome. I had the gyro on pita bread. It was so wonderful. It had the perfect balance of gyro meat, veggies and sauce. I will definitely be back to order the gyro & fry combo again. Every bite was so scrumptious. The chicken sandwich wrap was also so very yummy. The chicken was tender and juicy. The wrap had a great balance of flavor and was a winner.Their pecan pie is off-the-chain. If you like pecan pie, treat-yo-self. It is well worth it. --SERVICE--We had a wonderful waitress. She took care of all of us and ran the register. She was busy, but was always sure to check in on us and was happy to give recommendations as well--which were spot on. I enjoyed her honesty, attention to detail, and hospitality. --OVERALL--I really enjoyed my experience here. It is a tried-and-true hole in the wall. As far as hole-in-the-walls go, this is a new favorite. Its not a steakhouse, its not a fast food restaurant, its not a elegant place, but for what it is, it does IT well.I hope if you are in the area and looking for a spot to eat, you will give Choice Café a try, I highly recommend it.

I was blown away by how clean this place is. The woman running the show was very friendly and on top of it all. My food is delicious . I've been working over here more than 6 months and now I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. WOW. As someone that's ran multiple restaurants over the years I am very impressed. Definitely will become a regular. Thanks to the kitchen staff also.

Had a good breakfast at Choice Cafe on a Friday. They do some things very well, some things not so well, but the 4 stars is earned primarily on service, price, and the chicken fried steak. I arrived about 8;30 and there were 2 tables seated. 2 more came in while I was eating, so the place was never crowded, but it was brisk. The 2 tables that were seated when I came in knew each other, the server, and the cook. They were having conversations at several moments throughout my meal. That made me feel like I was in someone's living room. I kind of get that vibe about Choice anyway, it was a super comfortable and clean place. But, small, I can see how it could feel cramped if every table was occupied.I went with the chicken fried steak breakfast with home fries, eggs scrambled with cheese, and a biscuit and gravy. At $7.95 this meal is beyond a bargain. The price alone is worth an extra star to Choice. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes, and it was hot. The home fries were standard diced potatoes which were then fried and served with slightly grilled onions. However, no seasoning whatsoever. I added copious amounts of salt, pepper, and hot sauce, and they were pretty good. I ask for my potatoes to be well done or extra crispy, and these fit the bill. Some seasoning and letting the onions cook longer would make these a lot better. The eggs were scrambled too hard, they had no life left in them. But, they were fine as well, I have had much worse. The gravy was strong, it's a cream gravy that was seasoned very well (no additional seasoning needed) and it wasn't too thick, but also wasn't too runny. The biscuit was fairly standard, I am guessing it was not served warm, because the parts of the biscuit that weren't covered in gravy were room temperature. The biscuit was not memorable, but it certainly got the job down. The star was the chicken fried steak. Hand-breaded to order, the steak was a perfect size for breakfast. It wasn't a behemoth that hangs over the plate like you would find at Kendall's in Noble or Jimmy's in South OKC, but it also wasn't a tiny frozen steak like you find in school cafeterias. You'll get full, but not uncomfortable. It was fork tender, and the breading was crispy. Again, no additional seasoning needed. I would absolutely order this again. For providing made to order food, Choice got me in and out in a very reasonable amount of time. Given that I was headed to work, I appreciated this. I will absolutely return.

Definitely will eat here again! I got the chicken fried chicken and fries. The chicken was to die for! Breading was perfect and the gravy was the cherry on top! Their fries might be some of my favorites I've ever had. My husband got a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, he is pretty picky and he was very pleased! Oh! And the peach tea is so refreshing. Perfect for a hot day like today!
