Chinatown Supermarket may not have a lot of premade food available but it has great prices for their grocery goods. If I need grocery goods, this is where I would go to save money. It does come at a non-monetary cost because you have to navigate through small aisles, smelly meat market, and waiting in long check out lines. But being Asian has granted me a superpower to withstand all these adversities to save every bit of money. To us, every penny counts. If there's a thrift Asian supermarket on the moon, then Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would be replaced by "Lee" or something Asian. We climb every mountain and swim every ocean to save every penny. For those reading this review (not many of you), this is an exaggeration. It's a stereotype therefore it is not true. This is free writing and sometimes free writing goes off the rail.

It's been awhile since I have seen a rundown asian market I just moved to OKC from California and being privileged to have a thriving Asian community there I used to shop at one of the cleanest and well kept asian markets in the states. Obviously OKC doesn't have a huge asian population, so my expectations for this market may have been a bit too high...but seriously I felt like I time travelled back to the past where an open fish stench and unclean walkways was the norm for Asian markets even in southern california...Not trying to throw shade, and I want the little asian community here to thrive, but definitely lower your standards before you come here!

Best ingredient selection in terms of produce and sauces. You can order dim sum in the back of the store, just make sure you double check what it is with the more experienced servers if you aren't familiar with the selection. The cashiers here go FAST. The whole store is a little cramped but has the same selection as the other Asian marts in OKC

Smaller Asian supermarket compared to Super Cao but has a great selection of items (e.g., in the Asian snacks department) that Super Cao simply does not have. As these pictures demonstrate, some rare offerings from different countries that might be hard to find at a typical Asian grocery store. They also seem to focus mainly on food, and don't sell as wide an array of random knickknacks as Super Cao does. As a result, this place may simply be better for food. Recommended!

Great place for grocery shopping. We live in Bentonville but we travel here to buy our favorite food. The cashiers are courteous and helpful.

Pros: good selectionCons: everything else. It is dirty, cold, it smells and if you want to call that service, you would offend anyone else in a service industry. Seafood department had 5 guys working, or more like leisurely chatting and giggling while I had to wait for 15 minutes for a person who barely spoke English (Hispanic, not Asian) to be kind enough to serve me, after which he proceeded to try and convince me that halibut and flounder are the same. Yes, it's a similar fish, but that, combined that it took these guys all those 15 min I was waiting to clean 3 snappers, made me think the only fish they saw was in textbook pictures, if that. Will only recommend if it's your only source of sustenance and you would have to face a choice to go there or starve. Otherwise, avoid this place

Y'all... if you're giving this place 5 stars, you haven't been to better Asian supermarkets, and you're missing out. If you know, you know-- there is a spectrum when it comes to Asian supermarkets. You have the lowest-- the places that REEK, are dirty, have expired items, have a bad selection, etc. You also have the higher-end places, similar to H-Mart, where the lighting is super bright, things are clean, items are well-stocked, and prices are usually at a premium (latter of which kind of sucks). This place is mid-tier. Does it have the typical, distinctive Asian supermarket smell? Yes. It's not super offensive or anything, but it's not odorless. It's also not super fishy or anything, it's just kind of that certain smell. Again, if you know, you know, haha. Is it the most clean? No. It's a bit on the dirtier side, but it wasn't so bad that I refused to buy some stuff there. They have a better selection of veggies than I've seen at some other Asian groceries (like 888 in KC), and they all seemed pretty fresh. Are they in nice little shelves like at H Mart? No, but it's what you'd expect from your average/typical Asian supermarket. I do feel like they lacked in selection when it came to the dry goods and frozen foods. They have mainly Chinese and Vietnamese items. I didn't see too many Japanese or Korean items. They didn't have some of the things I was looking for (Guai Guai snacks or the Twin Dragon potsticker wrapper brand), but they did carry some frozen IMEI brand goods, which was a plus. In addition, I was impressed to find that none of the items were expired. Would I go back? If I lived closer, maybe. But I drove all the way from Norman (40 minutes away), and I'm not sure it was worth it.

Attached to Golden Phoenix on Classen is Chinatown supermarket. It is my favorite place to stop when I've found a new Asian recipe. The fresh seafood selection it's hard to beat in Oklahoma City And it's unique design and layout is entertainment on its own. If you've never been to an Asian supermarket and you're looking for something fun to do downtown that's also free I would highly suggest checking it out.

I have seen a lot of Chinese supermarkets, but this one is perhaps the worse. First thing that hits you is the disgusting smell of a fish market that has never been cleaned. We tried to get out of the store, but the aisles were incredibly narrow and most were stacked with boxes of goods... seems like a fire violation. Perplexed as to why there were so many folks with buggies of grocery, but maybe it is the only Asian grocery store in OKC. It was so filthy that I would be scare to buy any food here.
