We haven't been back in over a year. This used to be a go to spot for the us locals but since they changed owners it has gone down hill. The last time we ate there we noticed the breading was hard and the chicken was dry. With little to zero taste. It was like they had taken cold chicken and re-fried it. The staff was nice enough and the drive thru speaker doesn't work so you have to wait to get to the window to place your order then wait for it to be prepared. Not sure what happened but our family got very sick from the food. I would suggest folks beware.

Great service, best I had in Oklahoma. Food was great and generous portions. My son had the chicken pot pie, I had the chicken fried steak and husband had the fried chicken. No complaints

Stopped here at nearly 2pm passing through on a Sunday afternoon. We were quite hungry and had been trying to find something other than fast food for over an hour. There were several cars and people coming and going. Looked popular with mostly other seniors. Ordered the pot pie dinner with 2 sides for $7.50 to split. Young woman at the register was nice enough giving us an extra plate. Pot pie was average, about like Swanson's frozen. We got baked beans and fried pickles. Beans were so so, canned I suspect, but the fried pickles were extremely salty, heavily breaded, and over cooked to the leather stage. In other words inedible. The roll was yeasty but terribly sweet. We did not try the fried chicken but in appearance it closely resembled the pickles. The people around us were talking about their high blood pressure and beta blockers. I shouldn't wonder if they eat here very often. To make matters worse, as we left driving away from Hwy 59 to see the downtown area, there was a nice BBQ restaurant 1 block away with lots of cars out front. We can't vouch for the food but if we come back thru we will give it a try. If you are hungry here I suggest you do too.

We are from Texas and decided to come up here to visit friends. We where. Craving BBQ, so we found this place. I ordered a full rack of ribs, and the wife ordered a chipped need sandwich. The full rack was 4 ribs and almost all fat, the heated them up in a steamer. My wife ordered a chipped need sandwich and it was the nastiest sauce either one of us had ever had. The only reason that they are getting two stars is the potato salad and the coke slaw where awessome.

We generally go to Charlie's on Tuesday for the Smoked Chicken special. My boss told me that they went there on some other day of the week and wanted the smoked chicken and they wouldn't give them any...so now we only go on Tuesdays. Some days the chicken is drier than others, but most of the time it is pretty solid. Good slaw here too. I don't really understand the toast thing but I'm not complaining...I'm learning a lot here in the South.

The people are friendly and helpful. The chicken we had was tasty and moist. The slaw was also good. Now for the bad. The fries were as bad as I have ever had. I also did not think that BBQ ribs could ever be this bad. If you ever eat here stick to the chicken

This is my favorite place to go! Super duper cheerful attitudes from the employees, exceptional food, especially the chicken fried steak dinners, always fresh, valuable prices and plenty to choose from! This place is like a second home.

Stopped in for some BBQ Beef. Definitely not BBQ'd more like boiled and then reheated, not a good choice. Actually returned my plate and got chicken which was average. Tasted like gas station chicken but the restroooms were clean so one star for that.

This place has a menu that makes it very difficult to decide because everything sounds so good and the prices are very decent. I had the 7 piece chicken chunk dinner for just under 9 bucks. Chicken chunks may sound weird but I can assure you that I was a convert with the first bite. The chunks are huge, the gravy perfect and coleslaw as good as you will find. Throw in a delicious fresh roll and you will leave Charlie's as happy as I did.

We were passing through Sallisaw and stopped at Charlie's because its parking lot was full. We were going to get barbecue sandwiches but opted instead for the $7 buffet. Down home cooking, lots of fried offerings: chicken, okra, gizzards, livers, etc but also some tasty smoked chicken and today's special -- tender pot roast. Veggies and salad fixings were nothing special, except for slices of ripe tomatoes and a homemade broccoli slaw. There were a few homemade desserts (again nothing special) as well as a soft-serve ice cream machine. The place was clean, the service was friendly and prompt, and we managed to eat delicious, healthy food with a small amount of time and money.
