What an awesome place! We stopped here on our way home from Turner Falls. The area is beautiful and full of rich history. I love learning about other cultures. We are at the cafeteria. The food was good. I love that the food was part of the Chickasaw Nation. I highly recommend going here for a day out of the house. Enjoy!

We went Saturday for their grand reopening. Entry was free and there were all sort of booths outside (free water, food, etc). We saw a nice presentation of authentic chanting/dancing. An absolutely beautiful flute song. We walked through the entire Museum. A lot of interesting facts/stories and very friendly attendants there to answer questions or expand on the history. The recreated village was beautiful and of course their gardens and bridge. My favorite part was the golf cart attendants. Right as we were getting out of our car we were offered a ride. The attendant gave us an overview of all the buildings and advised us of the dance presentation that was about to take place. We were offered a ride again when we went down the big hill to the village and the last one when we were finished at the bridge. We were taken all the way back to our car in the parking lot. With some physical issues and the extreme heat of summer this was a life-savor for me. My only complaint was from inside the museum. The various places that had speakers to tell us different stories and facts were way too quiet. We would have to stand inches away from the speaker to hear it and if there were any other people in the hallway we were in talking/making noise, forget it, no way we could hear it.

Brought my family here for my husband's birthday. This place is absolutely beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous. We came here from Texas and it was worth the drive. Very historical and we were able to dance with some of the Chickasaw community. It was a hot day, but it was definitely worth the visit. The only things you have to pay for is the one museum, food court or theater and gift shop of course, but most things are free. They have activities for the kids for free and military discount as well. I give it two thumbs up and would recommend you guys to come. The food was good as well, they had buffalo burgers and bison chilly... yum

Went for the Fall Feat and this place was pretty awesome!! Never knew it was here and for an alert from a travel site which sounded appealing so we went to check out the festival which had live stomp dances, family crafts and activities, demonstrations at the recreation village, a screening of Halloweentown, yummy treats and so much more. I had looked up the facility before going but nothing out there could really explain the vast size of the campus or all the really interesting things inside. The museum itself was top notch!! They do host a lot of events here and I will be back!

I love this cultural center. First let me say, there isn't much to do in such a small town so visiting the cultural was the one of the highlights of my trip to Sulphur. I originally came there for a church event but I had a rental car and one day free before the event. The Chickasaw Center is huge. There are cuotas artifacts surrounding the grounds. There's an educational library on the premises, a food court featuring Native American cuisine and every thing is state of the art. There is a beautiful auditorium on the premises where I watched cultural dance. There is a historical Chickasaw museum on the premises with a tour guide. Finally, there is a gift store with some very thoughtful gifts... I got some jam and few other gifts for family and friends. Great place to visit if you are in Oklahoma.

The exhibit museum was very educational; however, the staff working in there were not very helpful or friendly. I did like to see that everyone was beading and that keeps with the traditions, I guess. The food in the cafe is very good but, I did find hair in my food. It was replaced. I cannot wait to come back in the summer to visit relatives and bring them with me.

This area has so many hidden charms that make the perfect photo opportunities. I love that they decorate it with seasonal decorations! Also, the employees seem so nice and provide good morale and pride for their nation. They have golf carts going around to help people when they get too tired because it is a widespread area. The traditional village is very educational for everyone, young and old. It is also very well taken care of. I have not tried the traditional food, but I will next time.

For a place that's free for the most part, it's pretty interesting. I think the only activity that has to be paid for is watching movies in their little theater. Other than that, all of the exhibits and the outdoor areas are free to roam. The grounds are well kept and were beautiful during my April visit. The living village was quiet, as I think the more lively parts occur on the weekend, and I was there on a Friday midmorning. None-the-less, exploring the structures and grounds was relaxing and interesting. There's a bridge that just finished in February of this year that crosses over a creek, which was quite pretty. The cafe they have serves some fairly good food. I enjoyed the jalapeño popper type dish, as well as the sweet potato fries.

The Chickasaw Cultural Center is a place that I will definitely bring my family back to explore. I had the opportunity to visit the site during a Yelp Super-Elite trip. I can honestly say that I did not feel that we were treated like we were special.Instead, the passion and joy that all of the staff had for their work clearly expressed that everything and everyone was special. This was not a tour to explore dry history. This was a welcome to a living breathing culture. "Yes, we are here. But, here is where we came from. Come, walk the path that lead us through the years."From the performance (with audience participation), to the films, to the touchable displays each aspect enveloped the audience member in a rich history. The mock village brought another aspect of the living history to the present. There is much much more to explore and learn, and I look forward to going back and discovering more.ps: The food in the cafe was good too. :-)

Wow, wow, wow! Every tiny detail here is so thoughtful and it is just so beautiful. We learned so about the Chickasaw people and had such a great time. We REALLY enjoyed learning about stickball. The man who taught us about it (who was also a lead singer for the stomp dance demonstration) really took his time with us and we all played a game. It was such a memorable experience! The cultural center was a highlight of our road trip. Everyone working was so kind and helpful. We stopped in the genealogy building and they looked up and printed out so much information for us. If you go, allow yourself hours to enjoy everything!
