Chef Ray's Street Eats

I was passing through OKC and yelped this place for a quick pit stop..... and boy did it deliver! It was inside of Parlor OKC so there were other restaurants in the same building and multiple bars! Ambiance was definitely there! Customer service was great! Food came out quick and the guy behind the counter was great! But you are here for the food so let's talk about it! Obviously I gave it a five but the presentation was great, visually delicious looking, it came out piping hot, and generous with the fries! Flavor was definitely there, strips were a great side, and it was messy just like I like it! It definitely delivers on the food truck vibe and boy is it delicious! A must try! Gotta go now, bye bye then!

I wanted to experience something delicious, looked at all the reviews for fried chicken and landed here. I could not place an order. The chicken was sitting in the frying basket, cooked, looking all dry and sad like it been there a while. The cooking area did not look kept. There were fries hanging out in a basket too. I walked away having spent money on an Uber to get here, scared to risk it and get sick.

Delicious! The chicken was very good! I really liked the chicken sandwich. It was messy but so good! There is also a variety of tasty sauces to try. The portions are large and the service was great. It is kind of hidden upstairs in the back, but it is worth the search. I would definitely recommend coming here because it is delicious!

I've known Chef Ray for well over a decade now. He genuinely cares about what his food presents and tastes. That banana pudding is hands down some of the best around. You can taste the love in it. I love seeing his truck around the local festivals as well.

They came to our neighborhood for the second time and we had missed their first visit but people had raved about them. We had to try this chicken out! I got the Nashville chicken basket (asked for lower heat) and my husband got the honey bee. The Nashville was so delicious and the sauce bled on to the fries and it was wonderful. I had it with bleu cheese and ranch. The only thing I would change is to have more sauce or extra hot sauce on the side. The honey bee was good too, my husband really liked it. I definitely preferred the Nashville chicken. We got a sample of their seasonal ginger pumpkin Banana pudding and it was great as well!One extra comment is that they were not wearing masks so if that's a problem for you, just be aware of that. We would definitely return!

Can I rate more than 5 stars!? My first time there & I loved it. Quarantine life and they stopped in our neighborhood pool clubhouse parking lot pre-planned...+2 stars The line was long and DEFINITELY worth the wait. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken basket. It was flavor packed and the fries... Yummo. The food came out piping hot. It was pretty delightful & delicious. +5 stars I would go back for sure. They get from me. The staff is friendly & delightful as well. Keep up the good work. Return whenever you can again... My monies were well spent! I don't know why this isn't listed on yelp but Rays chicken has a location in a brick & morter building as well as the food truck. Rays chicken kitchen is located in the "Parlor" just east of Broadway on 6th street. Their bistro is on the upper level. We ordered the Nashville hot chicken and were treated to the best chicken tenders we've ever had. Unbelievably good, super tender, with just the right amount of heat. You can choose from several heat levels, being wimps we chose the mildest. There were a lot of other chicken dishes we wanted to try from the menu so Rays will be a definite return trip. Our chicken came with some great fries, deli style sliced pickels, & bread. Nashbird has really good Nashville hot chicken but Rays is flat out better.

Best fried chicken in OKC. Great portion size too. I had the bumble bee and it was delicious. The Parlor is also a fun place in general. 5/5 recommend

Very good! Lots more to choose from when I arrived. I ended up with the Korean Spicy Chicken. Would go back and try others.

I was at Parlor with my family and decided to try this place because I was interested in the Nashville hot chicken. The employee who helped me said that I could order a spice level of 3, 5, 7, or 10. I chose 5, and that was right for me. It was hot enough to keep my mouth warm but not anything that made run around in a panic looking for milk. The piece of Texas toast served with the jumbo tenders was just the right thing to keep the spice off my hands - very important when you're eating Nashville hot chicken.The fries served with my Nashville hot chicken tenders were cooked the way I like them - crunchy but not greasy with a little bit of skin on them.The only two things I did not like about this place are the lack of smaller portions and the way that they added the Nashville spice. First, I don't mind taking home leftover tenders, but if I were here just by myself on a business lunch, I would rather have the option to order one or two jumbo tenders with a smaller portion of fries for a lower price. My meal came with three jumbo tenders and enough fries for two people.I also didn't like how they applied the Nashville hot seasoning. They sprinkled it on one side of the tenders but not the other. If I return, I will ask them to sprinkle it generously on both sides. That will add some more seasoning to the fries as an added bonus.
