I went to the Oven two days ago. I hadn't been there for some time. A couple of years. As a long time fan of the Charcoal Oven, since the early 60's, I am pleased to say that my experience was great. Top notch. I had a #2 with pickles and onion. And a side of well done fries. I suggest you give the Oven another try.

Stopped here to grab a quick bite to eat after a day of errands. We were greeted by two fabulous ladies which I always appreciate. We ordered a hickory burger, onion rings, and a Jr. Burger. The onion rings were hot fresh and delicious - I'd definitely return to order onion rings. The Jr. burger was just okay. The bun was rather dry but I appreciated being able to add my own toppings (lettuce, tomato, and mustard).

Burgers here are bo-ring and overpriced for what you get. My $7 Caesar Burger was overcooked until dry and shrunken, smaller than the bun, cooked black like a little hockey puck. It didn't look appetizing, and it wasn't. Salad dressing on top tasted processed and sour with too much acid. Johnnie's is much much better, just stick with them.I didn't even want that particular burger, but they were out of American cheese (at lunch time!). Onion rings were better, house breaded, but no dipping sauce is included. All sauces cost $1 extra, even mayo or ranch. Only ketchup is complimentary. Ranch also tasted processed.Dining room has little atmosphere or nostalgia, just ugly fast food furniture and bland décor. Servers try to sneak upcharges by you, but at least they're friendly while doing it. Just watch your price total on the cash register screen. At least they are cooking things fresh, so I upped it to 3 stars. But it probably really isn't better than a 2. I'm honestly surprised they are still open.

This was quite literally one of the worst burgers I've had. The fries and drink weren't much if any better. I ordered the Hickory Burger, which when I've ordered at other places was a regular burger with a hickory bbq sauce. This burger was literally 2 pieces of meat with some sauce like spaghetti sauce on it. There was nothing hickory about it and it didn't have onion, pickle, lettuce or anything and they didn't ask, so I just assumed it came with. The fries were battered but the batter had no flavor and I tried every diet soda they had and they were sweeter than a 5 pound bag of sugar. I just threw it all in the trash and won't bother to ever go again! The place smelled good since it was like chargrilled but the taste didn't match the smell.

I really loved Charcoal Oven growing up, and I still like the Theta burgers even now.My husband and I ate there a few weeks ago, though, and (even though the food is still good) our total came to about thirty bucks for two burgers, two fries, and two drinks.Sorry, but -- at these prices -- I don't see how C.O. plans to stay in business. I dunno. Service is friendly.Venue (formerly Jersey Mike's) is clean and well lighted, and features ample parking.

Not what I remember from the Charcoal Oven of many fond memories gone. The Hickory Sauce was simple, runny, and not the same as that of the past!Burger smacks of being frozen as the meat is overly worked and/or compressed. Resulting in a flat and otherwise tasteless burger. The oversized bun doesn't fit for the lack of meat. Just overall an underwhelming experience when you consider that the operator opened adjacent to a better burger, Patty Wagon, that has a much better product!!!!!

Fast service, consistently great burger and onion rings. My favorite is the old fashioned burger.

Leave this place for the old timers. The name is super misleading seeing as they use a flame broiler, NOT CHARCOAL, however... the burger is of good quality. Not much more than knowing you are eating a bit cleaner than today's alternatives. Very over priced, better off going to Tuckers.
